No, Janilee, we don't have that problem exactly but a bird built a nest right out my daughter's front door where the guttering comes down. We watched them build the nest and now she has 4 babies that we can watch them feed. My grandson just loves it.

Bad news about our baby birds, yesterday afternoon I was at my daughter's house and we were standing in the yard and looked up at the bird's nest and there was a huge snake wrapped around the guttering and lying on top at the crook where it goes up to the roof. It had eaten the baby birds. My son'in-law squirted it with water and got it to come down and shot it with a pistol. It was right beside their front porch and about 10 feet from their front door. OOOHHHH Nasty. I don't like snakes at all. But for the snake lovers, we thought it best to kill it since it was at their front door. I don't know if it was poisonous or not, but if it had bitten me I would have died of a heart attack or if it had fallen down when I walked out the door.

So keep your eyes open Janilee.

so sorry to hear about you baby birds. I know that would have been wonderful to see them grow and learn to fly.

Oh no! Glad the darn snake is dead. I hate snakes with a passion. I've never seen any snakes around here but you can bet I'll keep track of my babies from now on. We don't use the front door when there's a nest on our porchlight or in the tree right in front of the front window. We'll use the garage door or go out the back door instead.

Tell your son in law he did good.

Wanted to tell you guys about a banner on the side of the road we saw Sunday. My dh and I were out riding our motorcycle (this is our way of spending time together when I have a good day and feel like doing it) and we saw a banner in front of a cemetary that read: BUY ONE CEMETARY PLOT AND GET ONE FREE We had never seen an advertisement like that for a cemetary.

We just thought that was so different

I also hate snakes with a passion and was not sorry to see it go.

My babies are here. Two of them hatched this morning, two are still in their little shells. They are just the cutest smallest little things I've ever seen. Been watching out for snakes too just in case. If a critter goes by the front in the evenings, the flood light will come on so I'm not worried there.

You are right, that is a wierd sign.

Three babies in all have hatched. It's been one week since the first one hatched and all of them are so big now. They hardly fit in the nest anymore. I check on them all day long to make sure no slithery creatures get at them Yesterday I noticed that they are starting to get more of their little feathers. They are so cute.

Janilee, I was on here yesterday and my grandson seen your picture and he asked about your baby birds. Our little birds had started getting their feathers just before the snake came. My grandson was so scared in the beginning when we first seen the snake but now he tells everybody about it and how the snake ate the birds. He gets really animated making all the motions of the snake as it ate the birds, He didn't see it eat any he just makes up the motions as he goes along. He has a very good imagination for a 3 year old, (he will be 3 in July)

I got some pics of the mama bird and the beaks sticking out of the nest of the baby birds. I'm too short to take a pic of them in the nest so I'll get my hubby to hold a mirror up to the nest and I'll take a pic in the mirror. I was going to do it a bit ago but the mama and daddy bird is real aggressive now. I've been looking out for snakes but with all the constrution going on here, I don't even want to be around here. They are almost finished laying all the new tiles. My yard, front back and side looks like a giant mole is burrowing underground. LOL. Give your grandson a big hug for me and I'll try to get the pics of the baby birds soon.

Hugssssssssssssssssssssss
