I had one doctor tell me that most people with Fibro have had some kind of trauma in their lives, like physical, mental or sexual abuse. I unforunatly have a them all. I think car accidents and the loss of family and friends also fit. So I think that really comes down to a dysfunction in the nervous system somehow.

So maybe there will be a way to heal the nerves somehow one day. Its like you just get overloaded and then your nervous system goes haywire.

My husband has been sober for 22 years now! And he is my ROCK! I love him so much...he is actually handling this really well since we finally embraced it this last flare up. We never really understood it or belived in it and now there is relief just in that.

But out of everything I think this site has helped me emotionally more than anything because 'I am not alone. I hope you can find a job that is not stressful or maybe do something out of your home where you can monitor yourself. I know when I had to quit work I went into a depression like no other, plus my son had just left the nest. So I had nothing in my life and felt worthless. But my family made it very clear I wasn't. Someone had to take care of the petsBut seriously I think we just learn to put what energy we have into something else. Sometimes something even more meaningful. For example I do alot of writing, photography, and I love scrapbooking, getting all those beautiful moments of my family in books so we can enjoy them. Its things I can do on my own time. Yet everyone gets something out of it. melegg, you to will find your way. You sound very strong willed. Have a great day, and be creative. You will feel better...I think I will try to do the same. Thanks Red2, I want to see some of your drawings! Are you in a town where you could take some drawing classes to get involved in it a little more. Red thanks for always being there. You have such kind words. Again, I love the support. Its just hard to actually put this part of my life into words because it can get so emotional. And I finally have learned how not to be so emotional. UGH! Love the carousel!

I think it would be great to have a chat room to show off our talents..But then thats probley what the lounge is for. Duh Luv, Kaze

Getting worse....

I feel that I've gotten somewhat worse. At least since I had my first symptoms in the beginning. But for the past 6 months or so- I'm feeling about the same. Horrible all the time. But keeping that chin up! This site really helps me mentally. Everyone is great!

Hey Kaze,

Thanks for the encouragement!! However, I did not say that my drawings were good!

My daughter and I also like to scrapbook together. But I seem to have the same problem you do in a scrapbooking store. I LOVE EVERYTHING!! My husband really will need me to find a way to work if I go in those very often

Luv YA

Red

Fm is not progressive. Surgeries, car accidents, and stress will make it flare up in periods of time. I feel mine has gotten worse but I have been having a very rough stressful time in my life so the pain will intensify due to emotional or physical stress until the stressors do away and until you find ways to deal with it better. It is just a learning experience. Some people sruggle just to survive but it will not always be that way. Life changes in a blink of an eye and we change as well. Sometimes the storm will come before the rainbow. The storm may seem like it will not get better but keep looking for the rainbow.

I agree that stress and other factors make us flare. I also have noticed since I have gotten older I feel worse, but I do also have bad arthritis to go along with the fibro so I have double trouble. LOL

The stress in my life goes up and down. Before we bought our new house a month or so ago, we had moved from an apt and was living with our son and his family waiting for our house to be done. It was stressful waiting for that and living with others, even tho they are family. Now the stress is more bills, and less money. LOL Waiting for SSD, getting the house decorated, so many things. And I am stressed about an upcoming surgery I am having.

Gosh I hate all this.
