Hi,

I was wondering if anybody has experienced feeling tight around the chest area. I feel like it is hard to breath. I have been to doctor and they say my breathing is fine. I have never had this symptom in my many years of being sick. Should I add this to the list?

Hello mome,

Yes, I have had this symptom before. Many times. If you've been checked out for any other possible causes and that came back negative, then I would blame it on fibro.!! I have had muscle spasms in my chest that move from my left side across my chest. Sharp, stabbing, pain that reaches into my lungs and I can't take a breath. It's terrible. I have to lean over, hold my chest, breath really shallow, and wait for it to go away. Usually within a few minutes. At other times, if I do a little extra housework, I will just have a heavy, tight feeling in my chest. Feels like my chest is pushing in on me. Feels like I can't always get a big breath.

Hope this helps you!!

I TOO HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM. IT SEEMS AS IF YOU ARE NEEDING TO TAKE A DEEP BREATH BUT ARE UNABLE TO. I HAVE HAD MINE CHECKED IN THE PAST AND IT HAS ALWAYS BEEN OKAY. SOMETIMES I FIND MYSELF FORCING A YAWN IN ORDER TO TAKE THE DEEP BREATH THAT MY BODY IS MAKING ME THINK THAT I NEED. IT IS VERY FRUSTRATING.
