The check thing reminds me of myself. I cashier in the pharmacy at work and sometimes I have to ask the person thier name 3 or 4 times before I find thier meds...sometimes I laugh about it and other times I want to cry or even scream!

I think my bf would love to find a leash like parents are using for their small children sometimes. I get into the "brain fog" and end up aisles away when we go shopping together. If I get something on my mind, it stays for hours... sometimes days. I guess that's one of the effects of my having fibro, OCD, and other issues. There are some days I can barely lift a finger to clean house then suddenly it begins getting on my nerves that dishes aren't done or something else and the battle begins. My fibro is screaming "quit" and my OCD is screaming "get this mess cleaned up", then to top that off, my bf comes home from work and finds me so exhausted and in pain I can barely sit up on the side of the bed and he scolds me for overdoing it. He has a lot of issues also like degenerative disc disease and is usually too tired and hurting from work to help, so my question is "Who is going to do it if I don't?". Needless to say, I end up depressed and crying from all the stuff combined. I am on Zoloft for depression but my insurance only pays for the generic and it just doesn't do as well as the name brand. Can anyone suggest an antidepressant that works with their depression and fibro along with any other illnesses/ailments they have? I have been on several others and one even made me suicidal Any suggestions are appreciated.

Mydnite,

I am just starting on Prozac so in about a week, I can tell you if it is helping any. I had been on welbutrin and it didn't help much.Just try to stay positive. I know it's hard, but there are alot of people here that will help you. You just have to get done what you can and the heck with the rest of it> You can only do so much.

I tried prozac and did well the first time but had to go off it for a bit. The second time... well lets just say stay aware of mood changes and ask your family to monitor your mood also. I did well on wellbutrin, but can't take it because it causes bad stomach cramps. I have also been on lexapro, buspar, I believe cymbalta (can never remember if that one or another one that started with a c... just remember it made me suicidal), Elavil, and Paxil/Paxil CR and those are just in the past 5-7 years. I always seem to start off doing pretty good then within a few months, it is as if they reverse their actions. Zoloft does the best of the ones I mentioned but I sometimes think if they could combine another with it, I would do much better. I really think that finding this support group will help. I keep too much bottled up and that probably causes more depression which in turn increases pain. I am really looking forward to spring and summer in hopes that I will be able to get outside more and enjoy the sunshine!

Thanks to everyone that posted tips on managing day to day management. I also keep a weekly medicine container for my medicines. Now I need to determine a way to keep up with the days to change my hormone patches and if I did it already on the right day. One day, I ended up with a patch on each buttock and one on my tummy and would have had another on the other side if I hadn't noticed. Thank God it wasn't something dangerous that I could have od'd on.

I have had numerous occasions where my forgetfulness has led to funny circumstances so I try to remember those when I have the bad ones. I guess it's like the old adage goes, "If life gives you lemons, make lemonade" My version goes, "If life gives you lemons, buy some sugar, and then make lemonade." *lol*

I took Zoloft for about 20 years. I now take ciprotopram 40 mg. each day and it is really making a big difference for me. I don't know of anyone having sucidial type thoughts while on this medication. However, medications work different on different people. I get mine from the va hospital and several people up there are using this same drug and like the way it works for them.

I hope this helps you
