Anybody out there. Just exactly how bad does fibro fog get?I feel like I am losing my mind and have been really forgetful lately. It's getting worse.I thought I put my extra pack of cigs in the kitchen cabinet last night and after searching the whole house for them I finally found them in the trash instead. This worries me to no end because my mother had Alzheimer's. Any one have the same problem because of the fibro fog. Could it be because I am no longer taking my antidepressant. I quit that about 2 months ago. HELP! This is scaring the living day light out of me!

oh thomasann i am so sorry. i understand about the memory loss, it took me 15 minutes sat to remember why i went into the kitchen, and finally remembered i was really looking for my purse, then i paniced and couldnt find it and it was right in front of me.

i get scared too about alzheimers because my grandparents had it and i think my mom is getting it.

why did you go off your antidepressents?

Thanks Debbi. I am happy to hear that I am not the only forgetful one. But have never had it these extremes. I went off the antidepressants because I can no longer afford them as my medicaid was cut off when my son turned 18. The doctors office does not carry samples of welbutrin. Alzheimers hit my Mom when she was just a few years older than me>

maybe you could get your doctor to prescribe one of the cheap $4 meds from walmart or target. prozac is on there. Or if you are eligible go to www.needymeds.com

You can maybe get free meds from them. I am currently getting quite a few medications for free every month.

i am way more forgetful now that I dont work. I guess i am not stimulating my mind enough. i have to get back to the library for some books to read cause sometimes i cant even rememeber the right words to say. it is sad. have you applied for ssd?

Hi Debbi,

Yes I have applied for SSDI and am waiting for a hearing date. Just got appointed to a judge, but they have not given me a date. All the other antidepressants did not agree with me. So far wellbutrin has been the only one with no side effects. A friend of mine said they are using tryptophan a having great results. Do the antidepressants help fibro fog?

For me, no the antidepressants dont help the fog. My dh, who thinks he is so knowledgeable, bless his heart, thinks I need to stay more active. HA.

Well at least you have been assigned a judge. I was denied first go round and am in appeals stage. Then decided to hire an advocate to see if it would speed them up.
