I just started taking 100mg of Lyrica tonight.

I was just wondering if I should be feeling a difference in my pain level or if I need to give it more time?

My cheeks feel a little numb also, is this normal?

I also already noticed an increase in my appitite so I guess this would also be a good time to put a diet plan in order lol.

My knees and upper back are driving me out of my mind.I really hope this stuff takes effect soon!

Cadburry, I am not sure what to tell you about the Lyrica. I am experiencing the same things as you and I am only on 50mg in the morning and 50mg at night. The drunk feeling for me has gone away in the morning, but I notice that if I wake during the night the room is spinning like mad...I have to hold onto the wall to check on my kids or use the restroom. Not fun!

I was told it may take a little while - week or two for it to take effect. Just remember, everyone is different in how they react to meds. Apparently I am one of those that is pretty sensitive.

I hope you have better luck with the med than me. Sending you hugs filled with love...

Cadburry, I am on 100mg of Lyrica at night and I can't stand this stuff. I have gained 10 lbs and I haven't changed my eating habits at all. The pain is not any better either. Yesterday when I was taking my walk, all I did was cry the entire time, I hurt so bad and then I just came home and flopped on the couch and curled up like a baby, everything throbbing. I have had one good day since I started taking this stuff. I cry all the time and have had thoughts of suicide - not serious thoughts but fleeting thoughts (which is just not me!) Suicide is not something I have ever thought about EVER, not even fleeting thoughts!!!!! I am going to get off this stuff as soon as I possibly can but I apparently have to work with the doctor to do it, can't just go off it. I was so hopeful when I saw that damn commercial with that stupid SKINNY lady talking about the only pill approved by the FDA to help with fibro pain...There is no magic pill...my doctor enrolled me in this pain management program through Kaiser which I have heard good things about so hopefully that will give me some relief...

I hope you good luck with the Lyrica - I do hope it is the magic pill for some folks...I wish it was for me

Take care and best wishes...

Hugs~ Laura

Suicide is a rare side effect of Lyrica so it's a great idea to get off it as soon as possible if the thought enters your mind.

I noticed after about four hours of taking this that I got the shakes and felt like I was having an anxiety attack. I havn't had an anxiety attack in over a year! I have not read anywhere that it has effected others like this, so I decided to go ahead and add my morning dose today. So far nothing, but I'm going to give it time.I want this medicine to work for me so bad. I'm already over weight and if this medicine makes me gain weight then I will refuse to keep taking it.

I also read that in rare cases it can cause stroke or heart failure.Well my lovely doctor didn't think of the fact I have Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome which already increases my chances of stroke!

I pray I get accepted into the pain clinic, but they only have me down for knee pain! My wonderful doctor!

I'm going to call her tomarrow and tell her that they better throw in the fact I have wide spread chronic pain that keeps from having any sort of life. My doctor knows I have Fibromyalgia, but she wants the Ruehmatologist to make the diagnosis so there for the pain clinic doesn't know about that.

If I don't get some releife I will loose my mind!

I read some place that a lady who suffers from Fibro had such a bad flare she had to be sedated because she was out of her mind in pain.Thats frightening!

cadbury; That Lyrica can take a few weeks to kick in. I know I took it and for the relief I got,I decided to stay with the Neurontin.[it's cheaper].

I used lyrica and had horrible side effects. It did help the pain even right away. I got put on the neurontin and it works well for me w/o the side effects.
I have dystonia, neuropathy, gerd, arthritis, and fibromyalgia, carpal tunnel and other ailments. I enjoy embroidery, music, and reading my Bible and Christian books. I love to bake. I try to be very supportive and positive.

I take 100 MG of Lyrica at night. I tried taking it during the day and couldn't because it made me way to dizzy. I take it at night so I can just pass out for the night. Pain and fatigue wise it has really helped me a lot. The only problem I have with it is that I gained 10 pounds since I have been on it (2 months). I have eaten less and tried to exercise, but gained weight somehow. I am frustrated because I can't do any high impact aerobic activity like I used to and this is what helped me to lose weight. I had to go buy new clothes tiday because nothing fits. It is so depressing and I don't know how to lose the weight unless I starve myself and I don't even think that will work at this point! Sorry, I just needed to vent a little.
