okay, call me crazy but I'm planning on going on an over night hike in the Great Smoky Mountains in May. I have 10 weeks to get in shape for it. I love hiking but havent been on one in years. Several years ago I was able to do it.It was really difficult but I was so proud of myself, I worked really hard to prepare. It was like I went to battle with fibro and I won.so I'm going to war again. I'm fighting for my life, the life I want to live. I'm getting a massage every week and started walking everyday. I hope I'm able to do this. I will not give up on the things I really love because of this illness. I am in pretty bad shape but the massage therapy is helping with the pain and fatigue. I finally got a copper braclet and I'm taking a truck load of vitamin/mineral supplements. I had to mentally get ready for battle and I'm ready.

I don't think you are crazy (well maybe a little),

You can do it. You have 10 weeks to get ready. Do it for all of us who don't have the guts to try. I wouldn't do it. You have my whole support.

thanks everyone. I need your support and encouragement. I actually made fun of the "hiker gal" and now here I go but it is a reasonable hike we are going on. My hubby, my 12yr.old son, my brother-in-law and his sweet wife and my father in law are all going so I'm really excited about this. they are all pretty understanding about my health, especially my brother-in-law. so I know they will not push me too hard.
