Sorry its been so long since I've been on.

I just try to not think about it and stuff.

Which doesn't work. The past few months have just gotten harder.

My appointment with the rheumatologist is this Monday.

I'm verryyy excited.. but scared too.

I am 15 and I have fibromyalgia.

I got diagnosed in January.

There is only one rheumatologist in Oklahoma, where I live, that will see people under 18. So its taken this long to get an appointment.

So I've been dealing with this for a long time, basically on my own,

with no medication or someone to understand.

It sucks.

I can't wait till monday.

pray something good happens <3

Oh Sweetheart, of course we will pray for you. You just go in there and you be assertive with your new doctor. It helps to make a list of all you are struggling with that way nothing is overlooked by you or your doctor. Be persistent in your questions and demand answers, just be polite and respectful at the same time. You know your body and you know that it is time you find help.

The only thing I am worried about is your age being a limiting factor in your drug treatment. This may be an issue in the beginning for a doctor, so be prepared for that. Do as much research on all your options available to you so if this issue does arise. For example:

Savella is the newest Fibro medicine available but it is not recommended for anyone under 18 due to the antidepressants in it. Although, if you are monitored on its progress very closely, I do not see why you would not be able to give it a go.

Is there an adult going to be with you during your visit to offer support?

I am also very excited for you. I always get excited as well when I see my doctor for some reason, maybe because he is handsome, but more than like because it is about my treatment plan and how I can progress to the next level. So I am with you on that one.

Please, I will be looking for a post from you tomorrow, so update us on your visit and how everything went for you.

Love Elizabeth

I am just like you and I am on MDJ for support and true friendship. Please, always consult with your doctor about medical advice and medication, never take one's opinion regarding your most precious asset which is your life.

Also, I forgot to mention in my post, you are never alone. Just tell us how you feel, sometimes that is good therapy in itself. Being anxious and in despair only adds to your pain levels. You can cry on my shoulder anytime you feel the need.

Glad to see you back with us. I am excited about your visit, I can not wait for an update. Smile
