Hi. I am fairly new here and to this dianosis although I have unknowingly suffered with the illness for quite a while. Some of the stuff I read about Fibro has a pretty vaugue list of symptoms. I had no idea so many seemingly unconnected symptoms could be tied to one thing. Crazy. I've been having some new symptoms and I am unsure if they are related to fibro or if there is another cause. How do you know?

I am still having a hard time believing this is all real. I am not doubting any of the pain or symptoms we all have but I guess I just have not quite accepted my diagnosis. Talking and reading here with you wonderful real people who live with fibro is helping me come to terms with my illness.

Please list as many of your symptoms here as you can for me. I want to hear it from real people instead of reading articles.

Spicy, Welcome to the group honey. I also suffered for sometime without knowing I had Fibro. Actually, I had never heard of it until I went searching trying to find a reason why I sas suffering so much.

During my search, I did find out I was Hypo from Hashimotos and have been treated for that. But I still remained suffering. I have also just recently been diagnosed with Fibro. Some of my symptoms are listed below, in no particular order,

Extreme Fatigue

Extreme Pain - Somedays better, Somedays worse

Aching

Headaches, sometimes lasting 3-4 days

Constipation alternating to Diarrhea

Anxiety

Depression

Hair Loss

Irritability

Weight Gain

Insomnia

There are some awesome people that you will meet in this group. You are going to learn so much on the forum, just stick around and ask away. The others will share their stories with you as well, there are so many different ways that we all suffer, everyones input will vary.

The best kind of friend is the kind you can sit on a porch and swing with, never say a word, and then walk away feeling like it was the best conversation you've ever had.

I am just like you and I am on MDJ for support and true friendship. Please, always consult with your doctor about medical advice and medication, never take one's opinion regarding your most precious asset which is your life.

Honey, there are so many symptoms it's not funny.

1st, you WILL have a hard time coming to grips with having fibro. You will think for sure it is something worse because of the pain you're in. You'll wonder how you can be in so much pain and nobody knows why, nor do they believe us.

You will also grieve for the person you used to be and the things you used to do.

Anger, sadness, anxiety, fibro-motions you didn't know existed will start flowing. That's what we are here for. To help you through every level of this crap to make it easier for you.

Every time you hurt, you'll go to the dr. and "nothing is wrong". Eventually, I stopped going and chalk everything up to fibro.

When do you know when to see a dr. for something serious? I haven't figured that one out yet.

I would read every site you can about fibro. Change the wording on your searches to find different theories. It's been 2 1/2 years for me and I find myself still looking for answers.

It's all very confusing but I hope you will find much comfort and many answers here.

P.S.

Headaches lasting sometimes 3-4 days? I wish! Tray a nagging headache for 2 months.

This like may help too. http://www.fibrofactpage.com/

Sorry Bo, mine do last 3-4 days at a time, but they only give me relief for 1 - 2 days in between starting again. Bo is absolutely correct about the emotional symptoms. I think this is very important because they sometimes are not as obvious as the physical ones.

I fell down a little trail, and pulled my arm, and got poison oak..but now I have horrible restless leg, and arm, how do you cope with foreclosure, packing, driving, going to store , walking dog, etc, when you have this level of pain and doctor does not know much about fibro or believe the suffering. What do you do? Raindrop

Hi Raindrop. You sound like you are in a pickle my love. Sometimes life seems to just come in and take control of us. It is not amazing how you suffer so with as much as you have going on. I am trying to picture myself in your shoes. I am exhausted with the thought.

It seems that when it rains it just pours on us, with no umbrella for protection. Can you take a day off just to rest? Do you not have an option for any help? Maybe you are just the kind of person that being in control is your only option, and overachiever. Being an overachiever lays down the tracks for Fibro.

I know everything you have listed is extremely stressful on a good day, honey, you just have to delegate if you have that option. Will one day off make any difference in the way or time frame allowed. The only reason I say time frame is your foreclosure. I know these things have deadlines, but for health reasons, take a day off and get some rest.

The stress level you have are off the charts. You are going to be in my prayers and thoughts everyday until you get through this horrible time. I know that sometimes, you must just say, what the hell, and throw in the towel and get some rest. It will all still be there the next day. Remember, you are an important person and you must take care of yourself, first and foremost, over everything and anything else.

Liz

Add to that:

Numbness, stiffness, tingling, burning in hands, arms, legs and feet, overly sensitive skin, dry mouth, unbalanced gait, forgetfulness, inability to concentrate...
