I have had something similiar to this. At first it felt like a lump at the back of my throat, and then like I could not swallow. It then went to a feeling kind of like a muscle spasm down the left side of my neck and also felt in L ear. Doctors said at first allergies, then I seen a neuro eye docyor for another condition and he thought all these things were related to an immune dysfunction, perhaps from some type of condition. FIBRO??? I have doctors who will not commit to this dx. of me, but I experience so many of the same problems. My morning stiffness and all over body pain are the worst. Just thought I'd let you know my experience. It may have nothing to do with what your experiencing. It seems like whatever type of dsoctor I see, such as ENT ( he said allergies...my throat inside and sinuses were very swollen when viewed with a scope he used down ny nose) MRI of sinuses was negative. Doctors all had their own opinion. I believe the neuro eye doc. That made the most sense. I hope it doesn't come back. Very uncomfortable and scary to me. I wish you the best in searching for your answers.

I forgot to mention that another doctor told me acid reflux although I never had those symptoms. I also was put on medication which did nothing to help. This went away on its own about one month ago. So glad and pray it doesn't reurn. I had these symptoms for about two months.

hmmmmmm. oh my god sounds similiar. i got diagnosed in 05 w/fibro. anyhow about 3 years before that once in a while it felt like there was a bone stuck in my throat( only way to describe it). anyhow i would have to open my mouth wide quite a few times for that feeling to go away and move my bottom jaw around if that makes any sense. so i come to find out that it was tmj/myofascial pain. so i wear a mouth guard to bed @ night. i've worn it since august 2007 and have had no problems since. hope this helps a little.

And we desire that every one of you do shew the same diligence to the full assurance of hope unto the end: That ye be not slothful, but followers of them who through faith and patience inherit the promises.

Are you on any medications? I started cymalta not too long ago, and one of the side effects is dry mouth. And it is really bad. Its so bad that I have like no saliva in my mouth, I have to carry around a bottle of water all the time. So when I eat...I can have trouble swallowing because I have no saliva, it's kinda weird. Just a thought, not sure if this is relavent for you.

Good luck, hope you figure it out!

dee30 I had that same thing! I would swallow some food, and it would be stuck, I would have to crane my neck out and move my jaw a certain way. I had an EGD done and I had a hiatal hernia and a congenital defect called Shatskis ring that constricts my throat. I have to get my esophagus dilated about every 5 years. My dad has this too

Mine was greatly relieved with acid reflux medicines but it did not happen overnight. If your doctor mentioned taking meds for that I would follow that through for awhile also.

I forgot to mention I take Nexium along with Zantac. They work from different angles. I do not have any problems with dry mouth from those meds.
