Hi

I have found that the easiest for me is to not argue with your body and sleep. being that tired means your body is trying to tell you something. Even 5 minutes here and 10 minutes there helps alot!

I wish I could offer words of encouragement but I also have Nacrolepsy and they have me on double the recommended dose of Provigil and I still stay tired and fatigued. Of course, since I have so many overlapping symptoms, it is hard to compare how I feel to others....Maybe there is someone out there that has a suggestion that can help us all. From what I understand, with Fibro, it doesn't matter how much sleep you get, you can still stay fatigued.

From www.provigil.com

PROVIGIL is a medication to treat excessive sleepiness caused by certain sleep disorders. These sleep disorders are narcolepsy, obstructive sleep apnea/hypopnea syndrome (OSAHS), and shift work sleep disorder (SWSD).

There are some days that I can take my dose and within an hour still be passed out cold....Other day's I can take 1/2 dose and be so shakey that I would rather be passed out. Regardless, it does allow me to be able to get to and from work...some days I do have to take naps at work. Actually, I have dr orders to take at least 15 - 30 minute naps every 2 or so hours. 99% of the time, I just keep going because if I stop to take a nap, I might be out for a couple of hours.

It is probably easier to point you to my "New here...probably more than you wanted to know" post in the Introductions section.

I have stumpted so many DRs but they refuse to tell me it is in my head...so either they honestly believe that it is a true mystery or they are trying to cover their tales....

My favorite was when a former Neurologist told me "It's not going to kill you and it won't put you in a wheel chair in the immediate future"...what kinda crap is that....If you don't know what is wrong, how do you know the prognosis...If you don't know the prognosis how can you insinuate that it is going to eventually put me in a wheelchair???

Another favorite....Medicine is more of an art than a science!!!!!!

Just try to keep your head up and keep on pushing through each day...some day there may be a cure...

I have Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and Depression as well as the Fibro. I just started taking the Provigil again this morning. I have had no energy - no spark - nada. I will keep taking it until it gives me the severe headaches in the evening and I can't stand it anymore. Then I'll quit taking it for awhile and start up again just as I did today. I can sleep on the stuff too. I used to have to go to bed with a full bladder or I would sleep til 2 or 3 in the afternoon. This way, I had to wake up to use the bathroom. I had to quit taking Spanish lessons because I couldn't get up and around in time to make my 1:00pm Saturday appointment. I lost a job after a month because I was sleeping through two alarms and a wake up call. I was late three times and they fired me.
My disabling chronic illness is more real than your imaginary medical expertise.
