[b] I need Help

My whole Life Ive stuggled with my weight. ALways had to work to be a size 7. But then when I was 15 I broke my knee cap and thats where it all began. All the pain started. I never recovered after that. I couldnt play soccer any longer. So I started to gain a few lbs. But then I was in pain all the time all my joints hurt. By the time I graducated high school I was a size 11. Painful. Present day I was up to a 13. Fighting depression of being alone, not being able to work out due to the pain. Causing my depression to worsen due to my weight, which then causes my fibro to have more flair ups. I thought that was the worse then i entered lyrica into my system now im a size 1415 HELP. i am getting fatter by the day. I eat very healthy but the weight wont stop gaining. I hate myself more and more every day.. My doctor wants me to be on a 1,000 calorie diet.. I need some advice please help

..... JILLIAN

I'm fighting for the quality of my life.....

Jillian,

I don't really have any advice for you. I hope your doctor knows best for you. The lowest calories per day I have ever been on is 1200 a day.Ask your doctor to let you speak with a nutritionist. I don't have any work out suggestions but I have heard of chair exercises that don't put pressure on your joints but still gives you a "work out" like you might want. Trudy

Jillian,

1,000 cal. a day = controlled starvation. Extremely difficult to get enough vitamins and nutrients at that low calorie level, and most of us would feel hungry and food-obsessed all day long. Another bad thing about these extremely low calorie diets is that your metabolism will slow down to adjust to what your body perceives to be starvation mode, and each time you do this extreme diet, then go back to a "normal" calorie intake of like 1500-2000 calories a day to try to maintain your weight, you will gain all of the weight back and more, because your metabolism has been permanently slowed down. I know this for a fact because I have been a yo yo dieter since I was 15. I am now 50. The weight won't budge now unless I'd be able to completely fast for weeks at a time. Each diet gets harder and harder to do, and with all of the pain and suffering of fibro, it is no fun to feel hungry all of the time and deprived of your favorite foods. When I am on an ultra low cal diet like this one ( and I usually can't take more than three weeks of it before I go nutzo and quit it)I am cranky, cannot think well, physically weak and sluggish and more tired than ever. Exercise does help rev up the metabolism and burn off calories. They say the best exercise for fibro is water jogging in a warm pool with an aquajogger belt, which takes all of the weight off of your joints. It is hard to find a pool warm enough, however. So for now I am trying to accept myself as I am and work on at least not gaining any weight, and eating wholesome healthy nutritious foods. Don't be hard on yourself for putting on the weight though, most of are in the same boat due to meds and lack of exercise.

Hmmm, strange a doctor would suggest anything below 2,000 caleries a day.

The best way I know to loose weight isn't fun, but it works and fast.

1.No soda's

drink plenty of water and 100% natural orange juice

2.Watch your fat in take very carefully

simple tips: Hvaing a baked potato, use cottage chees instead of sour cream and make sure no salt or butter. It actually tastes good.

Want shicken with some flavor: A little olive oil and garlic and salt free seasoning of your choice.

Oh my all time favorite-Grilled chicken with cooked onions, green, red aand orange peppers in a whole wheat tortia.Add only a small amount of salsa to it.

Snack allot on healthy things like fruit and raw vegetables

These are just some things I did once to loose weight and I lost 77lbs. in three months.I never had to go hungry!

Oh yeah and salads!

I got very creative here making sure to add things like garlic just to make it even healthier! I also made sure I put enough tomatos in it so it wasn't dry because I did not use dressing.

Also when your body allows, walk and walk and walk!

Just changing your menue to only healthy and vitamin rich foods will cause you to start loosing wieght.

Yes the 77 lbs, I lost made a big differene! I went from being a size 26 to a size 16!
