I take my meds (which we are still adjusting), listen to relaxation cds, laugh with my family, and come here for help. I also use my bed buddy and/or Biofreeze when the pain gets really bad. Oh - I also like to take hot baths in my jet tub.

Sending you hugs for a restful night and less pain tomorrow...

I don't know for sure that I do "cope," ha, ha. I get mad... throw things on occasion... whine... fuss... cry... you name it! There are just too many times when nothing helps and I feel I'm entitled to just wallow in my misery a while and everyone needs to just stand back and let me do it.

Hey guys; I can tell you after having this fibro so long. The worst part is denial. You've got to sit down and convince yourself that you have this illness. And its not going away anytime soon. Then you've got to live your life along its guidelines. Take advantage of the good days, and take it easy on the not so bad days.

And on those really bad days; do nothing but relax and make sure you take your meds. Yes this thing is evil; it can turn us into a totally differant person. Change our world upside down. But I guess its like having an old car and you can't afford a new one; you have to put up with it. I hope this helps in your way of thinking. Somewhere, someones got it worse maybe not much worse or maybe alot. But at least here we have each other. Think good thoughts.

Good question, but unfortunately I have no answer.

I can say this much though your not alone. Everyday is a nightmare for me.I just can't stand the fact that all this time I was waiting for the cure to find out I had Fibromyalgia and then when I read about learn that doctors don't really know that much about it.Now I'm begining to think this is it.I will live in pain for the rest of my life.

I really wish there was some amazing thing I could say that would help with the pain, but the truth is theres nothing that seems to take it all away. There seems to be only drugs, drugs, and more drugs used to at least give people functionality.

Right now I'm not on anything and I have a nervous break down about every couple of hours due to being under so much pain.

I have to agree that acceptance plays a great role in coping with pain and fibro. I take my meds and rest when I have to. I have special pillow that is the only one I can use and I have an electric blanket and always use flannel sheets (even in the summer). Warm baths help but drain me of every ounce of energy I have. The biggest help for me is my faith in God, and the fact that I know he has a plan for me. If I have to waldk though this to become what he wants me to become or be where he want me to be, than I am willing. I had been working all of the time and running around with my family without a care when I became ill and I have had a complete change of lifestyle. I have learned the difference b/t what I need and what I think I need. And I have learned I need the Lord.

I hope you can find some comfort in

what I have said.

God bless you,

Sandi
