I'll tell you what I know and what has worked for me! There's also a VERY good book out that teaches you step-by-step how to do different things to/for yourself.

It's kind of hard to explain in words, you kinda have to be shown how to do it. But, if you TRY HARD...and get the book. It's like nothin'!!

You need to pick a time and find a nice quiet place where you won't be interrupted. Drink a HUGE glass of water (or even better, GREEN TEA) before AND after each "session". Put on some comfortable clothes and head to your spot!! Be sure to pick somewhere that you know you will NOT be interrupted. If you get interrupted, you will lose ALL concentration and may as well not even have started. Turn off your cell...whatever you have to do!

Start with some deep breathing, maybe sitting (indian style is the best) but whatever is comfortable for you. As you breath in, raise your arms, slowly above your head (up the front, not the sides) and back down as you exhale. Not too deep of breathes, just some "cleansing" ones. Eyes closed and back straight as you can without causing any pain.

As you are doing this you need to be thinking that you're going to clean your body of toxins, pain, anxiety, or simply whatever is happening that day! You have to REALLY think it. Really believe that this works, because it does but only if you believe it's going to.

After cleansing, start with some thoughts of "whatever needs to rid" actually leaving your body. Start picturing in your head "whatever's" leaving, starting to go down your head and you can make yourself feel it if you try hard enough. MAKE IT HAPPEN! YOU CAN!! Okay, then FEEL it going down your body and you can run your hands down your body (about an inch or two away from your skin)and help to "push" it out the ends of your toes.

The harder you concentrate, the better results you can have. If you have some soft music (i use native american flute) and burn insence. I also have a small water fall statue that I run at the same time.

So, start with that and see what you can do with yourself. If you feel like that little bit is working and it's worth the time, let me know and I'll tell you about the next step. I'll also get the book information and I really strongly suggest that you order the book! It's not in most book stores...I had to special order mine, but it's worth it...DEFINITELY!! Also, if you need some help on ordering or buying music that's good...let me know and I'll get the names of what I use!

So, if you can try this for say...maybe once a day for a few days straight and maybe concentrate EVERY TIME on the SAME issue and you feel something from it. I'll be glad to walk you through the next step. It gets better as you go!!

Please remember that this is just what I do. So, if you have other things that relax you and/or can think of another way that's better for YOU...then go with that!

You can send me a pm with any questions or concerns that you may have. And, remember...there are NO STUPID QUESTIONS!! So, please...feel free...anytime!!

Good luck and remember...concentrate!!

I also have severe anxiety husker. I realize I'm going through it. and laugh about it while I explode with the anxiety all at once. This is hard to do. I had a counselor teach this to me. When I calm down, and the pulse rate gets back to normal. I'm fine. Oh, it doesn't work all the time. I take medication to help. I had anxiety attacks about driving. I didn't get my drivers license until I was 40 years old. Hang in there lady

It may be helpful if people read this post on the way Vitamin D acts as an anti-inflammatory agent and that fundamental to all pain is inflammation.

Every pain syndrome has an inflammatory profile consisting of the inflammatory mediators that are present in the pain syndrome. The inflammatory profile may have variations from one person to another and may have variations in the same person at different times. The key to treatment of Pain Syndromes is an understanding of their inflammatory profile. Pain syndromes may be treated medically or surgically. The goal should be inhibition or suppression of production of the inflammatory mediators and inhibition, suppression or modulation of neuronal afferent and efferent (motor) transmission. A successful outcome is one that results in less inflammation and thus less pain. We hereby briefly describe the inflammatory profile for several pain syndromes including arthritis, back pain, neck pain, fibromyalgia, interstitial cystitis, migraine, neuropathic pain, complex regional pain syndrome/reflex sympathetic dystrophy (CRPS/RSD), bursitis, shoulder pain and vulvodynia. These profiles are derived from basic science and clinical research performed in the past by numerous investigators and serve as a Foundation to be built upon by other researchers and will be updated in the future by new technologies such as magnetic resonance spectroscopy. Our unifying theory or law of pain states: the origin of all pain is inflammation and the inflammatory response. The biochemical mediators of inflammation include cytokines, neuropeptides, growth factors and neurotransmitters. Irrespective of the type of pain whether it is acute or chronic pain, peripheral or central pain, nociceptive or neuropathic pain, the underlying origin is inflammation and the inflammatory response. Activation of pain receptors, transmission and modulation of pain signals, neuro plasticity and central sensitization are all one continuum of inflammation and the inflammatory response. Irrespective of the characteristic of the pain, whether it is sharp, dull, aching, burning, stabbing, numbing or tingling, all pain arise from inflammation and the inflammatory response. We are proposing a re-classification and treatment of pain syndromes based upon their inflammatory profile.

To use Vitamin D3 to control pain is a slow process because every cell in your body will need to be primed. If you start taking 5000iu/daily vit D3 now it will be at least 90 days before your circulating levels reach optimum, it will take even longer before your body has used that vit D to replenish it's stores and met the needs of every cell in your body, so it may take a year to feel all the benefits of optimal Vitamin D3 status.

There are other natural anti inflammatory agents as well as Vit D3. Some people have vit d antibodies that neutralise the vit d, some people are poor absorbers of Vit d and will be vit d deficient despite abundant sun exposure, some are extremely inefficient users of Vit D. So as you will not be certain you are not one of these exceptions to the rule it is as well NOT to put all your eggs in the Vit d basket.

Omega 3 (from fish oil, cod liver oil, ground flaxseed) is most often deficient in our diets. We should be aiming for 4grams of EPA + DHA daily. This means at least 12 normal 1000mg fish oil capsules or a couple of teaspoons of fish oil in liquid form.

How can I get more omega 3 fatty acids in my daily meals?: Ground flaxseed is also an excellent source of Magnesium which I discuss later.

Consider also changing your main drink through the day to GREEN TEA underlying all those health benefits listed at that link is the fact that GREEN TEA is an Anti-inflammatory agent.

Foods that are best for an anti-inflammatory diet

The Anti-inflammatory effects of Lactobacillus casei confirms probiotic benefits of yoghurt.

Another much overlooked factor in Fibromyalgia and PAIN is the role of MAGNESIUM in controlling inflammation in the same way most people are currently vitamin D & omega 3 insufficient we also have an RDA for magnesium which is insufficient and one which people don't generally achieve anyway. It is very easy to correct magnesium deficiency and soaking in a hot tub of dead sea salts is cheap and easy. Your local agricultural merchants (or equine suppliers) will have a 25kg bag at reasonable cost. In the UK it's around £6 so works out at 25p a bath. Folks with RLS may well find it sorts their problems and it should improve the quality of your sleep, Bruxers (teeth grinders) also find raising magnesium status helps as improving magnesium status enables your body to deal with stress better and I'm sure we all know that stress causes INFLAMMATION and inflammation causes PAIN.

I've just started to use Spring Forest Qi Gong. There does seem to be something there. I also use a form of self massage that keeps the sore and tender areas away. About a year ago, I started using the tennis balls twice a day -it only takes about 10 minutes each time. I have no tender points now. If any one is interested, I will explain what I do so you can try it. And of course, ask your dr. first!
