AngelBlossom1963,

I know how you are feeling right now I have been in that place before. I can tell you that I have had Fibro for 17 yrs. and after almost 11yrs. of having Fibro they wanted me to go to a Pain Clinic and I asked if they were crazy because I have been dealing with it with pain pills or a pain clinic. You might think this is crazy but you are also depressed and that is making the pain even worse. I was wondering if your are seeing a counselor or not? If you are not then that might be a good idea for you. Fibro and Depression goes hand and hand. They other thing is to try to find something to take your mind off of the pain. Find different ways to sit like with a pillow or different chair maybe even a heating pad or ice pack. You need to try to do something to keep your mind off of the pain if possible. I know it is hard, but I have known for a long time that there is no cure and if I wanted to have some type of life with Fibro I needed to find a way to make it. There is not a day that goes by that I am not in pain, and I mean pain that normal people would cry about, and I get up every morning asking God for help and knowing that I was going to make it today also. I can tell you that when I go to the hospital for pain you know I am in an awful lot of pain. So just give your pain to God and know that He will help you make it through the next day. God would never give any of us more then he knows we can handle. This will not kill you it will just make you a happier person.

I hope some of this has or will help you.

I know it's difficult to deal wit the constant pain, but you have to tell yourself that you are stronger than the pain. I know it's hard...I have had fibro for 16yrs. I was dx after a work injury. I have been thru all of the ups, downs, & in betweens.

You are totally normal for having those thoughts that you wish you weren't here. Ask yourself though, where would your family be without you? You are important to your loved ones and all of us here. You have the pain because you are strong enough to face it.

Let me ask you this...what meds and alternate therapies do you use? Maybe it's an issue of medication or lifestyle? The reason why I ask is that my pain was totally different when I was working full-time. I now don't work (personal choice) and even though I have some good days and some bad days, I am much better off cuz the stress is sooooo much less.

Please give us more info on what you have tried. We are here for you and want to help. Please know that even on your worst days, we will not leave you...

Sending you gentle hugs....

It took years for me to find the right combo of meds and we're still tweaking it. Everyone I know with chronic pain also is on psych meds. I know how frustrating this drug thing can be. I still have bad days too, just not as many. Please see a psych doc. as soon as you can. You don't need to be feeling this bad!

Have you tried other things for distraction - like relaxation techniques? I recently went to an Advanced Pain Management class where they taught diff relaxation exercises and stressed the importance of caring for ourself. The relaxation stuff really helps me...sometimes it helps calm my mind down when all I can think of is negative things. The relaxation helps me to slow my breathing and focus on deep relaxation.

Also, it sounds like maybe the Lyrica isn't doing what it's supposed to? I am not qualified to diagnose anyone, just making a suggestion and throwing in my 2cents.

Have you also tried massage therapy, heat/cold therapy and such?

Wishing you much comfort for your pain....

angelblossom, don't worry...that's what we are here for. If we can't be here for one another, then we have a real problem. It helps me to help others...it's important to me to be able to give my heart to others.

So, here is another question for you. Do you have a library nearby or some favorite music (instrumental music)? One thing that has helped me is to listen to the music and really focus my attention on the notes. I enjoy George Winston, which is piano music. By laying comfortably in my bed and focusing on the music, I eventually fall asleep cuz I am able to put the pain aside and really relax. If you have a library nearby, you may be able to check out cds for free.
