I have osteoarthritis throughout my whole spine. It's a mess to say the least.

This AM, I went to get out of bed and couldn't get my head off the pillow. I was in so much pain, I was crying.....I called out to my husband and he helped me turn on my side. Then after a while, he put his hand under the right side of my neck, so I could sit up. I was in excruciating pain. THe pain was going down through my shoulder and all the way down my arm.

He called my mom, she took me to my chiropractor. He looked at my MRI from Oct/07 and felt my C-spine and everything else, and said I probably blew C6/7. He said it was swollen there, muscles were very tight and spasming. I could not turn my neck at all and needed help getting up from a lying position. I was in tears at the chiro office too, how embarressing Weird thing is, my last MRI showed it was herniated/protruding on the LEFT side, not the right.

He had me go through the therapy room, electrical stim, ice and traction and sent me home with a neck collar to wear. I have to go through the same thing tomorrow and see him on Wed. to see how I'm doing. he says "conservative" right now and see how it goes, and if not well, sends me for another C-spine MRI. That is when I will call my orthopedic surgeon and he will take over from there. Chiro said the collar and traction will help that disk "go back in", hopefully.

It is now 1:45 pm. I got home this AM around 9:15 and I am still in a lot of pain, but "not as bad". I had some SOMO left over from 2004, so I'm taking those for spasms.

Anyhoo, well....looks like I might be heading for the surgical table after all. I don't think this one is going to fix itself.

I'll post an update later.

Sandra

I'm so sorry you are in so much pain. Glad to hear that you have a husband there to help you. Make sure to take care of yourself. Maybe watch a favorite movie or something to help the time pass. Otherwise, I hope you are able to get some rest so your body can do what it needs to heal.

Sending you soft, gentle fibro hugs and prayers for a speedy recovery~

With Love,

I am sorry osteoarthritis is so bad. I hope you feel better soon. You need rest. Are you sure the soma is still good? I have used soma and I didnt think it stayed good that long. You might ask for a new prescription.

I agree, you probably need a new prescription for a muscle relaxer and something for pain. I hope you have a good night and a better time in the morning. I will be praying that the chiropractric treatment is helpful.
