MDJunction to me

"When I first came to MDJ, I was in a very dark place, and feeling quite alone, I don't know how I found this site, but I have been very grateful ever since, all of you have offered insight to the illness of Bipolar and the other things going on with me, being here has allowed me to find friends, and to feel safe in discussing things that I would never have shared before.

I believe it has also offered me the chance to reach out and help others. A simple Thank you, is all that I have to offer, to this site and to the wonderful people here.

Hi Mesafoxx. I'm very sorry for what you are going through, but I'm not a doctor and I don't know anything about bone pain. Have you talked to your doctor about this? I think that would be the best thing to do. I'm so sorry, but I can't help you with that.

My ideas for Coffeebean are because I do know something about soft tissue (muscle, tendons, ligaments, etc.) and trigger points, but anything to do with bones is WAY out of my league.

I'm very sorry, too, about your migraines. I have gotten them from my first menstrual period (around the time I got FM) and all through my life. I get them sometimes when I'm on the computer too much or read too long. Bright light and strobing can bring them on, too.

I hope you are feeling better. Sending you gentle hugs. {{Mesafoxx}}

I wanted to know if your doctor has looked at this? Same thing here and he did a few tests and when I moved like he told me too, he lost my pulse. He is having me see a doctor that specializes in Thoracic Outlet Syndrome. Wich for me the flare ups pinch the nerves and muscles in between the bones. Bad pain from my shoulder blade up to my neck, then down through my shoulder, elbow, and then my fingers would go numb. Same in both shoulders, worse in the left. He gave me two shots of cortizone and switched my meds. Side affects of the new meds are awfull but the pain and burning feeling has gone down. He put me on Lyrica, meloxicam, and nexium. I keep trying to stay positive but the last week just has been rough.

LibraJo: I noticed you had previously posted about LDN. My husband has been on LDN 4.5mg for several years for MS. He swears by it. It is supposed to be very helpful for FMS as well. Anyone who is interested can look into it through....lowdosenaltrexone.org. Some people with FMS has a lot of success with it. The only real setback for many is that it is an opioid inhibitor. Most pain meds will not work with LDN. Just thought I would throw this info in for anyone that's interested.
Rest in 'Peace and Love' my dear sister Sandy...Nov 19, 2008. I love you.

Hi, I'm new to posting, so I hope I don't offend anyone out there. Ive had FMS for most of my life (diagnosed some 20 years ago) and I wanted to add some input regarding your symptoms. I had exactly the same symptoms many years ago, and still get occasional attacks. This was diagnosed as costalchondritis. This is actually common in individuals with fibromyalgia, but medical advice should be sought as the initial onset usually requires a diagnosis and an anti-inflammatory. I suggest to everyone with FMS to read the books by Dr. Devin Starlanyl. Devin is a physician who has FMS and has spent years compiling information that is easy to understand and validates a lot of the symptoms and "problems" related to FMS. Her books are quite informative and do not have the "we can cure it" attitude of several of the most recent books out there.

I had all of these same symptoms. Tightness in my chest, unexplainable chest pain, pain in my left arm and numbness in my hand.

At 35, I was shocked that they would want to rush me off to the cardiac lab and do an EKG on me. It showed irregularity in my cardiac rythym. Which as you can imagined caused panic and anxiety at my age.

I was scheduled for a follow up EKG and an ECHO. Prior to that I took a look at what vitamins and such I was taking and realized I had started taking a new vitamin called B-12 right around when the pain started.

When I looked up the side effects of B-12 (although rare) it was exactly what I was experiencing. I discontinued B-12, and the pain and discomfort went away. My EKG returned to normal.

Who knew a vitamin could raise such havoc with the body and cause someone to appear to be having a cardiac episode? When they say check with your doctor for some of these things, they really mean it.

Just wanted to share.

I am glad that you read the side effects and found out it was just that vitamin that was causing your problem. I also read about side effects because of the way my body reacts to medications.

Michelle, I found Coffeebean's profile page for you. I listed it under the other thread you posted.
