I was wondering if anyone else has the pain I do. I have been having upper left chest pain for some time, like a burning feeling and it also goes down my left arm and into my fingers. If I twist my fingers, hand or arm a certain way it triggers the chest pain more. Feels like a crampy burning pain. Have had it off and on now for quite a while. Lately my neck has gotten quite sore and hurts sometimes when I wake in the mornings and stays achy and stiff during the daytime. Now my upper left chest pain is more into my left shoulder too, not on my back but actually in the ball of my shoulder to my neck area. Typing does not make it feel good either. It has been rather painful all weekend and today. I am always afraid of heart related problems. I have had two EKGs and saw the heart doctor and she did not seem concerned. The pain makes it feel like I have to breathe more shallow although I don't know if I really am or not. I have an occasional heart palpatation but these are not really new either. Does anyone else experience anything like this? Any suggestions?

It could be gas. It sounds stupid but sometimes I get a gas pain that travels up to my chest and its scary. Try taking some pepcid or tums and see if you get any relief

Could be a muscular issue, have you tried to rub it out to see if it helps relieve it somewhat? Then you would know if a massage or heat therapy would be of benifit???

Just some thoughts and ideas to try???

I don't experience the pain that you are describing, but want to ask you about your breathing. Are you breathing from your chest or diaphram? You can tell by putting your hand over your tummy. If your tummy goes in and out with your breaths, you are breathing from your diaphram. If not, it is chest breathing. When we are in higher pain, we have a tendency to breath from our chest. Our bodies don't get as much oxygen and relaxation when we breathe from our chest. Try focusing on taking longer, deeper breaths from your diaphram and see if that helps. Best of luck...I will be praying for you!

Thanks for all the suggestions. I do seem to be breathing at this moment anyhow thru my diaphram. I will keep at eye on that. If I push on the a certain spot on my left upper chest it can make it hurt more. I do not have the squish sound under my ribs either.

coffebean, I get the same thing. For me it relates to one of my tender points in the left chest and neck. As suggested earlier if you can find the spot that is the most tender and rub it out it should help. When I have bad days I spend half my day trying to rub it out. It's become such a natural thing to me I don't realize what I'm doing. One day we were out in public and my hubby said" excuse me but do you have to rub your breast in public?" Blush Of course I said "yes I do what of it".LOL anyway heat is also a good thing. I have yet to convince hubby to rub out the tender points. hope this helps

Thanks Snoopy...I will be certain to give that a shot. I am glad someone can relate to my pain. Makes me feel a little better. Yes, I can see myself rubbing my breast too...lol but that is a spot that burns too. If feels like it is burning underneath. I will try rubbing it out and heat as well. I have to get one of those rice heating pads! I have an electric one but it is harder to get on the spot. Thanks soooo much. Hope you have a great day!
