MDJunction to me

jackie1979"MDJ is like a family to me where I can talk to others who understand how I feel. I can as group leader help others and support them and be there
for each other for the good and bad times. MDJ has helped me come to terms with my disability and be able to live my life and be positive. I just hope that I can be there for others like my friends on MDJ have been here for me.

I was turned down for disablility. I got my letter this weekend. The judge used information from my visit to the SSD doctor from 3 years ago, information from their psych exam 3 years ago and information from my dr. I didn't think my dr. would write negatively about my visits with him but he did. He told the SSD that I needed to exercise and I would feel better. I showed some signs of pain but he didn't think them serious enough to keep me from working. He had never given me a hint that he felt that way about me. He had been nice and took time to talk to me. I guess I should have heeded the advice on here that said I should read my dr's. files before going before the judge. The SSD dr. basically said that if I would get off my lazy butt I could get a job and work regular shifts doing things I had always done before in the work place. The judge also said in his report that although I experience some pain it is not as bad as I had stated. I used to be an office manager and I could just see a boss's face when I had a flare up and couldn't shower or change clothes for 4 or 5 days. I have one appeal left and we have decided I will change doctors and lawyers before I go before the council. My attorney failed to tell me that he and the judge had had some problems before and that the judge had actually quit and then came back to SSD to be a judge. The judge didn't like the lawyer and didn't care to let him know it. Talk about having the deck stacked against you. ANyway, on goes the fight.

I am so sorry Jan. You know the fight is a long one I have heard. I am afraid to even consider it myself. At least you have started yours. You have another chance, this time, take them by the horns and really show them what you've got honey. I will be praying for you. Everyone else will be by to state how they feel about this and lend you some support.

Elizabeth

The best kind of friend is the kind you can sit on a porch and swing with, never say a word, and then walk away feeling like it was the best conversation you've ever had.

I am just like you and I am on MDJ for support and true friendship. Please, always consult with your doctor about medical advice and medication, never take one's opinion regarding your most precious asset which is your life.

~Elizabeth~ :)

Jan you are definitely in my prayers. I was turned down twice before I finally won. In my case I was automatically turned down because I was only 30 at the time. Like my age would determine how sick I was??? We are all rooting for you!

Wow. I'm so sorry to hear this! That just sounds terrible. Some doctors really don't have a clue.

I can refer you to the Disability Advocate I used if you want. Just PM me and I'll give you his contact info. He is based in CO, but he works with clients all over the country. He is very good at what he does.

*hugs*

Sorry to hear that your doc turned on you like that. Good idea to change doc's and lawyers before your appeal.

We are rooting for you!

Better luck with this appeal.

Lisa

Sending some hugs your way! I'm expecting the same thing to happen to me. I've just recently applied so I know I've got a long road ahead.

I agree with you about getting a new doctor and attorney. Hopefully, you will find someone that will help you!

Hugs,

Tammy

I can't believe what people have to go through and stand up to in this process, it's shattering. Hugs Jan, I hope you find better and more supportive people to make your case with you.

So sorry Jan. It just infuriates me that these people pretend to know what's best for us or how we feel. This is your money that you worked for and who the doctor think he is acting one way to you and then making a completer turnaround. He should have at least had the you know what to tell you to your face. And you lawyer...Hello??? He should have had plenty of time to know what your medical records said. I'm very, very sorry and you will be in my prayers. Hang in there and keep fighting.

I am not a doctor and do not play one on these forums so please consult your physician for actual medical advice.
