Certainly MS should be ruled out. I had a friend with MS and she and I would "compare" our symptoms on any given day....many were the same. Chest tightness "can be" an FM symptom of certain trigger points in the pectoral chest muscles. If MS and other diseases have been ruled out, it's "probably" FM.

Mine is down lower like at the bottom of my ribs/upper abdomen area. It wasn't even mentioned as a possibility with my rheumy...how strange. Never a dull moment.

I had MS ruled out in the beginning when I had multiple MRI's done. My pain feels like chest wall pain which makes the throbbing pain feel like a heart attack at times. Also, my ribs and sides are very sore to the touch. Anytime I do some type of movements that use these muscles, I am in pain for days after.

Steffk.....oh, THAT one! Yes. It's a very strange feeling, isn't it? Comes and goes. I've never figured what sets that one off. It doesn't hurt like a real spasm for me, isn't a bloated feeling, just an annoying and uncomfortable feeling like Ace bandages wrapped around my abdomen. The funny thing is, at times when I laugh, I'll get these little weird, quick, painless prickles all through that same area, especially in my sides and back. Those come and go, too. Yep, never a dull moment.

Yes! Exactly like an giant Ace bandage wrapped around me. Like I had been working on my stomach muscles through crunches and just feels real tight for a while...or something like that. Bizarre.

Ruby....what's a bra? LOL It kills me to wear one so when I absolutely HAVE to, I use a bra extender on a sleep bra so I can tolerate it. I also don't wear one around the house (probably causes "other" pains elsewhere, and at my age, doesn't look too good, let me tell you!), and wear bib overalls a lot so I don't have to put one on. Yikes. I cannot claim to be a fashionista! LOL

I also have a difficult time wearing a bra not just because of the Fibro, I had a Mass removed from my right lower lobe 1 year ago this past Oct. And clohes in general are difficult to wear, but it must be done. I know the feeling.
