I was just recently diagnosed with a bad case of dry mouth.I was told it was from my meds. I found that there are lots of meds that cause it and left untreated can cause gum disease, etc.

I found there are things to help it like Biotene toothpaste, Oasis mouthwash for dry mouth,Oasis mouth spray. Hard sugarfree candy and gum are good to use also.

Thought Id share since anti-depresants, neurontin, nsaids, muscle reaxants and many other meds can cause this.

I have dystonia, neuropathy, gerd, arthritis, and fibromyalgia, carpal tunnel and other ailments. I enjoy embroidery, music, and reading my Bible and Christian books. I love to bake. I try to be very supportive and positive.

I spoke with my dentist about this recently too as I was concerned. I have been chewing a lot of sugar free gum which seems to help. That, and drinking lots of water. The dentist gave me a sample packet of Biotene products. I haven't tried them yet, but will let you know if they work.

I have also heard that there is some kind of spray that the pharmacies carry that is supposed to help.

Good topic, Singing!

I get dry mouth from my meds too. But have been sick for a few weeks and now have the dry throat thing going on from a cough that will not go away. It's the pits. I drink water like crazy and have to always have something in my mouth to keep from loosing my voice. --- I will be looking for the other product talked about in these posts.
