Ok, this doesn't have to do with me, so sorry.

My sister is here visiting for a week, she is a Diabetic, she has UC, and she has H.P., and Acid Reflux. Ok here is the promblem, the Dr put her on Cymbalalta 60mg. well the result, the UC has started to act up and she has had to use her meds for that, which she has had under control with diet, and the Acid Reflux is started in again, she said like she ate a hot dog and it is just sitting there. She told me last night she was just gonna stop the Cymbalta and go back on Zoloft, I said what, back the truck up. You never just stop a med like that, you need to work off it. She is also on Neurontin 1800mg a day, 600 mg 3 x's day, for Neuropathy. Her dose of Zoloft use to be 100 mg. My question, what is the best why to work off the Cymbalta, and back on the Zoloft, I know it has something to do with a Cymbalta every other day, or something, but how dose the Zoloft come in.

I told her I would ask my friend her on this support group, I was telling that I had from this wounderful site, she was so happy for me.

She said anything that can help talk, ask question, just read or vent on how I feel is wonderful.

(((Hugs)))

I would really like to help, but have never taken zoloft. Cymbalta, you are really suppose to taper down the dosage amount, then do the every other day thing. I really think she should try & get in touch with her doctor.

I don't know how far away your sister lives, but I would not want to be traveling with all that switching of meds. Can she hold off till she gets home?

I agee with LibraJo. I think you are supposed to wean off of cymabalta. I wouldn't think changing her meds is a good idea until she gets home. Calling the doc is also a good suggestion.

P.S. this happed to me and I just toughed it out until I got home. It was a long three weeks.

I agree ~ calling the dr is the best thing. Everything I have read about Cymbalta indicates a slow taper off. The dr would know best how to handle it. As far as the food feeling like it is just sitting there, the dr may also have a good suggestion for that since the dr should have a complete view of the medical implications.

Best of luck to both you and your sister! I know that it's hard to not feel well when you aren't at home. It's also hard when you want to help but aren't sure what to do.

With loving hugs...
