MDJunction to me

"MDJunction to me is a life saver... when i first was diagnosed with Scheuermann's Disease i wrote a message to a page i found on google, hoping that they could help me.... you'd never know it but that weird feeling (you know that one where it feels like someone actually cares) came over me when i opened my email next day to find that someone on the other side of the world (at the American Medical Library)had read my message while i was sleeping, and there low and behold was the address to MDJunction.... well it is everything to me, i live it breathe it and love it!!!!! I have found many people who are struggling with similar issues banding together to help each other. It is the best place in the world, and i couldn't think of another place to go to meet so many lovely people....

thanks MDJunction

It must be a "fibro" thing. I too sleep with one foot out of the covers, the other is snuggled up to my dog to keep it warm.
May the sun bring you new energies by day,
May the moon softly restore you by night ,
May the rain wash away any worries you may have,
And the breeze blow new strength into your being,
And then, all the days of your life,
May you walk gently through the world, and know it’s beauty and yours.

Hi Kitt,

So nice to have you. I read your post on body temp. A long time a go I had to go thru surgical menopause and had some problems. Hot flashes, etc.

But after all these years I can't blame my problem on this. Since DX w/ fibro I have real cold feet. I wake up real hot. You should see my hubby. Even in winter I'm turning down thermas. he's sneaking and putting it up. Then in the summer I have the air cond. on all the time. And once again he's lowering it and I'm sneaking turning it up I mean, you should see has. We're bouncing back and forth like idiots!!! But for real, it's very miserable living like this. I'm never comfortable. So I relate. How long has it been since you've been dx?

I live in the Chicago area, my biggest problem is cold. I am always cold. Layered clothes, heater under my desk at work 2 keep my feet warm. Only time I am completely warm is in a hot shower. Not sure what else 2 do. 2 pairs of socks, sweatshirts and hoodies all the time. I drink alot of water so I will keep reading and see what else every1 tries.

Hi. I am from Ohio, love to look at the snow but I get so cold though I am not sure it is more of a deep within cold. I wear socks to bed, couple blankets, heater at work, hot tub and none of these really work when I get cold like this. I am also the same way when I get hot. I stand outside, strip the socks, blankets and whatever. This is not a sweaty hot it is a hot from within. I also drink alot of water. My temp gauge is just all messed up.

I'm in Texas. This summer was a mild one for us. I'm not real sure if the weather has anything to do with it. I used to stay sweating all the time. Last year I couldn't have the heat on warmer than 64. Then if I'd get up to do something as simple as make the bed, the sweat was pouring off of me. This year I'm on different pain meds. Now I'm either hot or cold. Right now I am cold. At night my hubby says he likes being able to snuggle up and get warm, but after a short time, he has to pull away from me because he'll start to sweat. Even though I'm cold right now, if I get up to do housework, I'll be changing clothes from sweats into tank tops and shorts. My skin can feel cold, but I feel like I radiate the heat from deep down inside of me. My baths and showers have been just warm enough to not make me chilled. Then after my bath, I start sweating again. It's very hard to cool down once I'm hot too.

I live in Central Ohio where the weather is really unpredictable, so I often wear layers. In this thread, the majority of you talk about your body temps fluctuating. Would this include a sensitivity to temperature extremes (well, not that extreme), or is that another topic? I just know that one of my meds makes me sensitive to temperatures, particularly heat. If I get too hot, my IBS kicks in and I have to be really, really careful about what I eat.

Tammy I can't speak for your RSD, but I can tell you as you read through this site you will find burning muscle pain is a common complaint in fibro. I know I'm going into a bad flare when my muscles start to feel like they are burning.

The foot out of the covers thing. I can't believe that others do that too. It's like all of the sudden I started sleeping with one foot out of the covers. My husband even asked my what I was doing because that was so unlike me. Well, now we know.

Selfdx with the help of friends,
