Hey, sugar! I'm glad you're hanging in there.

I have never heard of adrenal failure due to fibro. I'm almost certain that it would stem from something else, although it could possibly be connected to the meds you take. Meds can be very hard on the body and affect different organs adversely. Just my thoughts.

What did the doctor tell you? That it's from fibro?

Hmmm, it sounds like it is a way to explain away some of the non-specific symptoms we have. I have Addison's disease and have to take hydrocortisone everyday to replace what I don't make. It's not a fun med to take so be very careful if someone is trying to put you on a steroid as an answer without having a very specific diagnosis. Lots of side effects that can cause some long term damage.

Oh! I think I read that incorrectly.

I found something on a website. Honestly, it looks to me like a way to bilk patients out of money with what I found.

I have never heard of any of that stuff to be true relating to only fibro. Now CFS, lupus and a bunch of other stuff I am sure are a different story.

If it's the kind of testing and treatment I found on that website, I honestly think it's only a way to charge people for extensive testing that they probably don't need. If you have a good doctor they've already run all those tests anyway by the time the dx you with fibro.

Research hugs, Tina

I have had to take hydrocortisone daily for over the last year and it has done very little to take care of my fibro symptoms. If my levels get too low I do feel worse but just taking hydrocortisone will not help someone with fibro feel better. Sorry. Honestly, if your adrenal glands stop producing enough cortisone your body will go into a crisis of some sort. For me I ended up dehydrated and very sick with a rapid heart rate of 160 beats per minute. They can also do a very easy test where they check your levels and then give you some meds and recheck your levels and that shows whether your adrenal system is working. Please be very careful.

Test results are good. I'm very sorry to hear that you have to deal with low adrenal levels but very glad to hear that they caught it before your body went into a crisis. I'll send you a pm with some info.
