MDJunction to me

"When I first came to MDJ, I was in a very dark place, and feeling quite alone, I don't know how I found this site, but I have been very grateful ever since, all of you have offered insight to the illness of Bipolar and the other things going on with me, being here has allowed me to find friends, and to feel safe in discussing things that I would never have shared before.

I believe it has also offered me the chance to reach out and help others. A simple Thank you, is all that I have to offer, to this site and to the wonderful people here.

My rhemetologist didn't seem concerned that it was slightly elevated, but I am! Anything that comes back slightly abnormal makes me freak out and makes me feel like I am dying. He thought it could be from all the advil I was taking and from the Elavil.

My infections were bacterial and viral. I had borrelia burgdorferi, babesia, ehrlichia, and bartonella. I also had HHV-6 and HHV-7. Oh yeah, and EBV-which is very common in people with FM. All of these infections were discovered after I found a doctor who cared.

I kept telling my doctor my lymph nodes were so sore. He never paid much attention to that. He just kept on writing scripts for my symptoms, which I now refer to as "band-aids". The scripts just covered up my infections and the infections were left to "fester" and multiply. Naturally, my pain got worse year after year. But I found a doc in atlanta who knows what he's doing. I'm better. I don't take anything for pain anymore. No more "band-aids".

Please do not take anything I say as medical advice. I am not a doctor.

Open your mind to the possibilities available to you.

An attitude of gratitude is good 'medicine,' too.

Hi all! I went to my doc (not fibro doc) yesterday. Remember we had the discussion of liver enzyme test? Mine were a little elevated, but she wasn't concerned. She said it wasn't enough to be worried about. I told her about all of us and how we all had some kind of liver testing and most of us had elevated enzymes. She said many people have elevated results, not just fibro sufferers. It's fairly common.

Meanwhile I've had a headache and nausea for a month and she couldn't find reasons for them. I'll tell my fibro doc next week.

Thanks for letting us know about the elevated liver enzymes. I was thinking of calling my family doctor cause I was concerned, but it makes me feel better that your doctor said a lot of people have elevated liver enzymes. I really appreciate you letting us know and setting our minds at ease.

Most people dont know that the liver is the only human organ that can heal itself to a dagree. If you abouse it, then it can not repair itself, but for minor problems, it will.

You are so welcome, Imcclure! I've learned a lot by reading all the forums. I can relate to almost every one and I love that we can share what we know.
