I went to my Rhemetologist today and they told me that my liver enzymes were elevated. They said the number was only three points above the normal level, but now they have me so freaked out!! I am not quite sure what that means and they didn't seem to know why the numbers were elevated. I got more blood work done again today to see if the level went down. I read that antidepressents and advil could cause this number to elevate and I am taking both. Did anyone else ever run into the problem of their liver enzymes being elevated??

I was told the same thing about three weeks ago. I had to go back to repeat the test. I have an appt. on Monday for the results. She told me that she thought I had a "fatty liver". That figures.

Did they tell you what that meant? I was told my count was elevated, but wasn't told what that meant or what I should do.

Yep, mine was elevated. Doctor took me off Lipitor & changed to Crestor (cholesterol meds) . I had it checked again like 3 months later & it was ok, but I do now have a fatty liver.

The doctor said if my cholesteral went down my liver would probably also, well it didn't.

Funny all this stuff with my liver count started after I had my gallbladder out. I think I lost my filter (gallbladder) My abdomen is also always swollen & painful, thats why I had the ultrasound done of my liver. My doctor says it is the Fibro - I still don't believe it. She also said Fatty livers are not painful?

This is too wierd. My liver enzymes are elevated also. I'm not sure if its the Tylenol, which is hard on your liver, or the percocet which also has Tylenol. My Dr. wasn't concerned, he said its a slight elevation and we will just watch it. Now tho, I'm thinking maybe it is just something that goes along with the fibro... interesting

How weird is it that we all have this problem? I thought that my enzymes were elevated because I take a lot of advil and I am on elavil and lyrica. I have got myself so freaked out about these elevated levels, but now that I hear it is common in fibro, I feel a little better.

I also get swollen lymph nodes a lot. Is that also related to fibro?

I had swollen lymph nodes, too. It is a sign of infection. It could be bacterial and/or viral.
Please do not take anything I say as medical advice. I am not a doctor.

Open your mind to the possibilities available to you.

An attitude of gratitude is good 'medicine,' too.

I get swollen lymph nodes as well!

But, they come and go on their own and HURT when they come!

I've never been told of anything elevated though...or maybe I did and just 'forgot'. It's possible...right?

Wow...the things we have in common!

I have swollen lymph nodes also. Wow this is weird.

As far as the elevated liver enzymes, i am not sure. My doctor is never concerned if any of my tests are a little elevated or a little low but i get concerned. Thats one of my pet peeves with him but he has been treating me off and on for years and he knows my body better than anyone else and i am also very comfortable with him so thats why i stay.

Hugs, Alicia
