Is stomach and side pain one of fibromyaigia systoms. I am very new to this illness. I was told that I have fibromyaigia Nov. 2006 so I really do not know when to go to the doctor anymore when I have a medical problem because they always tell me that it is fibromyaigia.

Hi,

I have been diagnosed for about 10 years and haven't gotten used to the stomach and intestinal pain from IBS (Irritable Bowl Syndrome)that often is part of Fibro. I totally understand your concern. How do we know if we are sick? I usually wait a day to see if my symptoms persist or worsen. It they do, I go to the walk in clinic. If my stomach and or side ache varries or gets better, I stay home.

When the IBS first showed up I was put through some lousy tests (upper GI, Lower GI, lower bowel scope, etc, etc,) just to find out there isn't much you can do about it. Get some exercise each day, eat high fibe diet, drink lots of water.

My two oldest daughters are in their mid 20's and both have fibro and IBS. It sucks! We eat lots of fresh fruit and veggies and whole grains and have gotten some relief.

I hope this helps

I spent 8 hours at the hospital for severe side and stomache pain, as you I am new to FM.So I had no idea that was all part of it, but they ran tests and found nothing, gave me some meds and sent me home, I dont understand the meds thing if they found nothing but whatever.Since that point I am still experiencing those same pains, I dont even bother going to the DR.S now for it, I think they think I am crazy and often I would have to agree with them. There are so many different symtoms to FM that,I feel like a hypocondriact. Most the time I just feel like I am going crazy...sorry for rambling and going of course here. I pray your pains will let up and good luck to you
