I am 37 and after having my last child in 06 immediately afterwards these bizarre symptoms started.Major headaches, tingling, numbness, lots of pain in head, neck, spine, shoulders, hips and occasionally legs.It also feels like a burning or sometimes even cold feeling. My one eye bothers me constantly. For some reason, most of my symptoms are on the left side.I have had so many tests done from mri's to nerve conduction to many labs. All normal. But I suffer daily.I am now in my 8th day of a headache.Always left sided, lots of temple pain and tenderness.1 neurologist finally said I had fibro and thats all I have to go with.My husband just informed me that he is sick of hearing about my constant pain.He said it is annoying and that he thinks it is in my head.I am lost...can anyone relate.Has anyone had all these symptoms?Sorry so long.Am new..Hope

hi,

your symptoms are different than mine, but mine also began after the birth of my first child and got worse after my second was born when I was 40. My problems began with fatigue, joint pain, generalized muscle aches, morning stiffness, mental fog, pain in my spine and back spasms, and mental fog and forgetfulness. No, you are not crazy. I didn't know what was wrong with me either. As you have found out after all of your tests, it is often a diagnosis made after excluding everything else, if you have at least 11 of the tender points for fibro. Do you have a good fibromyalgia doctor or doctors yet?

These can include a good family doctor, rheumatologist, chiropractor or other practitioner of "alternative medicine" , pain management doc, and possibly psychiatrist and neurologist. It can be difficult to find good doctors who believe in fibromyalgia and are up on the latest medications and treatments, but it is worth the time to try to find one. If you read the posts on this site, you will probably find all of those symptoms that you listed, and you will find people who have the same experience as you are having who can help to steer you in the right direction. Some people in the group suffer from headaches more than anything else, some from muscle pain, and for some fatigue and not sleeping well are the worst symptoms. We all have different degrees of pain, and we all respond differently to the various medications available. What works wonderfully for one person may not work at all for you, or it might work, but have intolerable side effects. Anyway, you have come to the right place for info, caring, and support....welcome! there is hope here.

isnt this weird, hopie, i too have most of my pain on the left side, with alot of pain in my right arm, elbow and my hand. Very seldom i get it on the right anymore, it was all right before but it switched. but the right arm is in alot of pain still.

i just recently started getting headaches, minor, Tell ur husband that until he is accepting and willing to learn about FMS, he is going to be sick of hearing about it. thats just the way it is. Hope start leaving some of the stuff about fibromyalgia. big letters so he can see it. Put it out there, if he doesnt pick it up and read it, thats his fault. Or maybe a friend that really knows about it and invite them over for a day when husband it home all day. try it and let me know

gentle hugs are coming ur way

c-ya later

for me the tingling and numbness is in the left side mostly. at least that is where it is the worst. the pain is usually all over but is worse on one side or the other. for me it all started at work due to extreme stress. and what i thought was just arthritis.

I honestly have stopped going regularly to my rheumy because it is 1)expensive 2) it is the same old song and dance, no new treatments, just given refills, etc. 3) I have had fibro for so long that I know what I need to do and just do it.

I too have a dh that is sick of me being sick. He has become so mean to me sometimes I just do not understand it. Even after my cardiologist said I need to cut down on stress, it seems dh forgets this. We have been married 32 years and while he has his own health issues I never talk to him the way he talks to me. Hopie, you are not crazy. Come here to the site for gentle hugs and warm thoughts from your fibro buddies. We understand your pain.

Love ya
