MDJunction to me

"In the 3 months I have been with MDJunction I have developed a sense of calmness. I now friends who do not judge me because I have been a mental mess at times. It is such a good feeling to have friends I can tell my deepest thoughts and always get back to me with their support. I have never seen a therapist for long periods of time. Right or wrong, this is the best therapy possible for me. Thanks Roy for getting this up and running and making such a difference in my life. Sara" (saralaurie)

Sorry you two couldn't sleep! I know the feeling but just to share...my pain Doc put me on 30mg of Imipramine at bedtime. It's a med for depression (the regular dose for that would be 150mg to start with...which it does help some for that too) but it helps with the pain and it LETS ME SLEEP!!! It's a "heaven-sent". You may wanna look into it. Hope tonight's a better night for everyone, after we make it through the day that is...

no sleep is an on going problem. i have had things in the past for sleep but then i can't get up. both of my knees have been badly injured. the last on is what set my fibro off. it makes it so hard to walk when the knee acts up. i have trouble talking pain meds so i try to avoid them. i usually just take my activive and it seems to help alot but i have been trying to build my strenght up and it is so hard. i need to get back to work but it is so had to get strong enough to do so. i was with the same company for 7 yrs and they work with the disabled so they were good about working with me. but the company went through a really hard time and had a big layoff. going to another company is just scary. talking to others going thru the same thing is alot of help. everyone around me is so active and doing fine. i feel like an old lady next to them. my daughter tries to help but she is so busy with school and work. i feel bad relying on her. if your up keep writing i will be up as well tonight.

Sleep? What's that?

I totally get how you're feeling about insomnia. It's a very common symptom of FM and one of the most important (in my opinion) one that I feel doctors should attempt to truly treat effectively with great urgency. Without sleep, all of the other effect for me are amplified by 100.

I've taken Restoril (Temazepam) up to 45mg a night for the last 2 years, but it's starting to wear off. I've tried Ambien which didn't work at all for me.

Sonata is a great drug but is helps you sleep and doesn't help you stay asleep.

Lunesta worked okay but gave me a horrible taste in my mouth the next day which lasted until late afternoon. It's like a metallic taste.

Finally AmbienCR for me is the best pill of all. It really does work great and the time released formula for me is extremely effective.

A decent site on Sleep Meds types can be found at

I hope this helps.

i wish i could take them i am allergic to so many things. on top of the fibro i also have had some personal turmoil and that really does not help. i just have been trying to take it one day at a time, but this last week has been really hard. i am glad they help you it is so frustrating just laying there wanting to sleep and it just doen't happen. so far the only thing that helps me with the fibro has been the activive and right now i am out of work with no med plan so getting doctor's help is just not something i can afford. everything here in nj is very expensive. just do the best i can. thanks for trying to help.

Hi there, Haven't been able to post for a bit, but just wanted to tell you to hand in there.I am in philly and know how expensive jersey can be. I also have major sleep problems, would be up for 3-5 days usually since the sleep study found out I have narcoelipsy and now all I do is sleep. I mean all the time I much rather prefer staying awake, at least then I really never had the fatigue feeling and actually got out ,,if you ever want to chat drop me a post. I get them at my email too. take care
