Soo happy to hear from a number of you!!!! Happy there are some American Idol fans out there- (hey maybe we can start a thread of our favorites!!!) I just like the fact these kids get the chance to show case their talents- without the show, they may have never been heard- that's coming from someone who has 2 music degrees- believe me I KNOW!!!

It's alot of hipe but I enjoy the kids. We have to have something out there to distract from feeling crappy.

I have to say it is nice to see so many faith-driven people too. I share the faith- but can honestly say have been struggling since I got ill. Not that I have lost it- just don't understand how this fits in the big picture of my life yet....anyway....

Let's keep to our distractions and try to find ways to cope the best we can- LOVE YOU GUYS!!!!! as Suzee would say YOU GUYS ARE AWESOME!!!!!

i hide in computer games and my farm animals. the baby pigs whome weigh as much as i do are fun to spend time with and the chickens love to have me play with them and pet them. I can spend hours with the farm animals and almost feel "normal" i wouldn't give them up for anything. I'm so looking forward to the chicken songs from the new babies next month. it gives me a reason to feel like living.

I can usually get really involved in reading a good book, playing with my two Shih Tzus (usually cuddling though ), being with grandson and family just talking, and my crafts. I cant do my crafts as much as I used to, but when I do I can forget.

I also read Robert Jordan and his books are magical. Im staring number 11 in the series. I use to do crafts but my hands give me so much trouble I cant do them anymore. I have a hard time hanging on to anything. do any of you have that problem. I drop cups of coffee on myself and glasses of water.

Hi everyone,

This is a good topic! Like most people have said, my animals really get me through.Sometimes I feel so tired I don't want to have to walk the dogs or play with the cats, but they're really good for me. Music can be a great distraction for me. I like to crank up the tunes and perform my own private concert now and then . I used to love to read, but I'm like Mesa, I can read about 2 pages and I'm out. Good movies can be a great distraction too, but I have a very hard time concentrating long enough to watch one sometimes. As goofy as it sounds, I really get into General Hospital even though it's soooo corny. lol. I love to draw and paint even though it can be hard on the hands. When I get caught up in a painting nothing else in the world exists! Art is great therapy. Going to art museums makes me forget that I don't feel well. Taking photos of nature is good for me too. Actually, just being outside in the fresh air can be a good distraction too.
