MDJunction to me

jayna01"My name is Jayna and I wanted to take this opportunity to say how much MDJunction has meant to me. I always felt so alone before I joined in April of 2012. I felt like there wasn't anyone that really cared about me and what I was going through. I felt like there was no one that would truly listen to me in what I was feeling. Nobody was there for me. That is before I found MDJ!

I have found and met such good people on these forums. I never ever knew there were such compassionate people before MDJ. It's also nice to know that I can come here anytime and get support for what I am feeling. I feel like I have met some wonderful life long friends. It is also an outlet for me to try and help other people that are hurting. It gives me a good feeling inside and gives me self confidence in helping other people.

I hope MDJ will be as good for you as it has been for me! Many Blessings and Much love.

IBS is one of our common problems, butt my usual solution is no longer working!

Since the change in my diet my usual nightly fiber caps are not cutting it. I don't think I have enough volume to keep things moving along normally. I'm eating plenty of salads and roughage, just not enough total volume of food.

I do not react well to stimulant laxatives. Hubby once insisted on taking me to the ER because he thought I was dying for sure! I've been trying glycerin suppositories, butt they just seem to free a pebble or two.

Today I went out and bought some Phillips Milk of Magnesia. I'm wondering how long it will take that to work, and if I will regret this move.

I'd love your input. Well...... I'd love some of my own 'output' more, butt until that happens please keep me entertained.

LOL I love the Butt that you used throughout your post .. yes I caught the pun lol... I dont know if I can really answer this one because some days I can go every day (and havet changed anything i have eaten that day or any other) orther days I dont go for many days and then a rock or two will come out or have extreme soft stuff come out (as my chilren say Soft serve style) LOL and I eat salads and fruit every day and rice with meat or veggies for dinner and cereal hot or cold in the am and it is pretty much the same thing almost every day so... IBS it is what it is I even use Fiber sure in a drink in the am and pm every day and the above still does what it does.. Gotta love our bodies Smile Cant wait to come home from work and read the rest of the replies you will get lol Have a good day Smile

Melly~

I have terrible IBS with constipation Sad I have tried I think every fiber on the market? None of the fibers that I tried ever worked. I too can not take stimulant laxatives. The only thing that has ever worked for me is Magnesium. The magnesium citrate works the best for me. The best ones that I have found have been at either the herb store's or vitamin stores. Ones that I have found at Walmart, grocery and drug stores don't seem to work as well?

Hi Melly ~ hun, this is a subject that is, well, right up my alley, unfortunately. Actually, when I do actually 'go', I send Janilee, Casty and Tina a message letting them know because I get so excited about it.

It's also quite a moment around my house when I 'go'. I will get that look on my face and Mac will be like - oh is it time (like I am about to have a baby or something) and I'll be like - ummmm, yeah I think so. Afterwards, if it is a success, we start high fiving one another.

Anyways...there are two things that actually help me. One is a new product called Phillips Caplets. It is better than Phillips Milk of Magnesia simply because you don't have to drink it and it is faster acting. I also cannot in any way shape or form take a laxative as it makes me hurt so badly. These caplets do NOT do this. They are very gentle and will not in any way make you cramp or cause any pain. You may have to take them two days in a row, but they are very good. Also, as strange as it may sound ~ if I take them that night before going to bed, I will go get me a Starbucks Mocha Frappucino Light the next morning and that seems to help the process...for some reason.

The next thing that works is a product called 'Oxy Powder'. It works by adding an oxygen process to your colon. It is very good and will not make you cramp or cause any pain. This is also NOT a colon cleanser. You never want to do that as it will make your colon 'flabby' causing you more problems. Oxy Powder is a capsule that is very easy to swallow and it just breaks down that material that needs to come out more easily.

I hope this helps you ~~ good luck.

Hugs,

Kay

Sweethearts, there is an all natural product called, "Digestive Advantage," that works wonders. They have one for IBS, one for Chrohn's, once for just about every poo issue under the sun.

It's a terrific product that I highly recommend. If you can't find it on your drugstore shelves, they have a website. I think they even send free samples.

In the meantime, Melly, what about that laxative that just got released otc? Or is that one a stimulant?

Of course, there's always granny's old fix, but I can't even talk about that.

My "tried &true" is milk of mag in the AM, and a few cups of coffee--no pain, no cramps, no emergencies. I find it is best to do this BEFORE i feel horrible-if I haven't gone in a couple of days, for instance. Good luck - break a leg? what does one say?
