MDJunction to me

"When I first came to MDJ, I was in a very dark place, and feeling quite alone, I don't know how I found this site, but I have been very grateful ever since, all of you have offered insight to the illness of Bipolar and the other things going on with me, being here has allowed me to find friends, and to feel safe in discussing things that I would never have shared before.

I believe it has also offered me the chance to reach out and help others. A simple Thank you, is all that I have to offer, to this site and to the wonderful people here.

I've been having some difficulty urinating. I feel like I have to go, and I sit down and then it takes forever to get started! Then I have to push to get it going often. I don't really have any pain or anything.

You'd think if you need to pee you could sit down and just go, not have to concentrate like crazy to get going.

I'vwe been thinking maybe I need to see if I have a UTI or something.

I think you should talk to your dr. Sounds like something might be wrong.
I have dystonia, neuropathy, gerd, arthritis, and fibromyalgia, carpal tunnel and other ailments. I enjoy embroidery, music, and reading my Bible and Christian books. I love to bake. I try to be very supportive and positive.

This is another problem I have and like I said before I don't take the meds I think it's just from the Fibro. I can't tell you how many times I went to the dr. thinking I had a UTI or a broke kidney or something now he doesnt even do the test he just thumps my kidneys and goes your fine go home. So it's going to suck if I really do get one lol. Mine gets so bad though I feel like I have to go and don't and then I stand up and pee down my leg, then Im like IIIGGHH!!! So irritating!! It's not all the time though just every few months or so.

I have the same problem, except I dont take those kinds of meds and I usually have a UTI. The only problem is that the medications I get to get rid of it dont work anymore, so I'm stuck with UTI all the time. I actually started using an anti-spamodic medication so I dont feel like I have to pee all the time!

OK, so I know I'm not the only one on here eith IC but it might be something to consider, especially if you feel a lot like you have really bad menstrul cramps, but it's not time, or you don't have periods, and if you feel like you have to go a lot, IC is actually intercticial cystitis, where the lining of the bladder thins and your bladder can sometimes have ulcers and is inflamed, there is a test called the potasium test or something like that, they put poatsium directly into your bladder via cathider, and if youhaver it the potasium will hurt your bladder very bad, I came off the table! But if you feel like you have uti's a lot, but nothing gets rid of it, or the tests are negative PLEASE have this checked out , it's very often mis diagnosed or ignored, soooo PLEASE talk to the primary and see a urologist, anti spasmotics control the bladder from having to constantly feel like it needs to empty , like a muscle relaxer but for your bladder, this condition can be very painful, and I have read that it can go right along with the Fibro! I hope this info helps, it can be treated symptom wise but not sure about cured, chnges in iet can help as well and there is a lot of info on the web. Have a good night all!!

Sorry about the typing, I meant to say there are dietery changes that can help improve symptoms and if regular uti cultures and blood work are negative for infection but you still have symptoms deffinately talk to some one about IC
