Happy belated Valentine's Day and welcome to all the newbies that I have not had the pleasure of chatting with yet! My doctor just decided to wean me off of my zoloft and put me on cymbalta. I start my first pill tomorrow. I wanted to get online sooner, but the last few weeks have been horrible. For all of my friends out there, can you please tell me your experiences with Cymbalta, such as side effects, etc... Any input I'm sure will be very helpful.

It makes you really nauseous the first 3 days, You need to take it in the morning or it will keepyou up at night. It is supposed to help with anxiety and depression. Supossibly it helps with nerve pain somehow. It helped my daughter for awhile then stopped. Now she is on it again and it is helping again. Hope this helps.

I was prescribed this from my rheumatologist, but couldn't afford it. It was going to cost me $100 for a one month supply. I talked to my pharmacist and he told me that there was a small amount of people that really got pain relief from it and the side effects could be huge. I have so much going on right now i just didn't feel it was a good time to start a new medicine. I would like to know how it is working for you if you don't care to share with me.

I never did get over the nausea!! I ended up having to go off of it. It also gave me the shakes real bad. I tried to take it two times and both times I had the same results. It has helped some people though so maybe it will be right for you. I have a weak stomach anyway so most meds cause me nausea!!

Thanks! Anything and everything is helpful. I was a little nervous because I also have alot of other medical problems that I don't need any horrible side effects or anything else going on. I'm going to try it for a week and if it causes any bad side effects, then I'm going to demand that I be put back on Zoloft.

Thanks! I guess I'll stay on it for as long as I can deal with the side effects. I'll pray that I don't get any though. Maybe I'll be one of the lucky ones! Yeh right!!!

prince,

I think I was on it 2 yrs this past September, my doctor told me to take it right after I eat breakfast, luckily I never got sick.

After the first week I thought it was the miracle pill,

I felt so much better, I was walking better. That only lasted a few weeks.

I hope the doctor is starting you at a low dose, like no more that 30mg. I started at 20mg. Could never handle more than the 30.

I took my last cymbalta yesterday, I was doing the taper per my doctor.

I really thinks it helps with anxiety/depression. Unfortunately we didn't think it was benefiting me anymore.

I would give it a try for a while & if it does make you sick, find out what dosage the doctor gave you to start. Allot of the doctors start people at 60mg & I think that is why they have problems.

Let me know how it works out.

I started taking Cymbalta in early December. Started on 30mg and was very nauseated for the first 3 days. Thankfully it went away. In late Jan I was told to up the dose to 50mg. The only side effect I had for a few days was that I was more tired. Now it doesn't seem to be giving me any side effects. It's not helping with the pain that I can tell but it has helped my mood/outlook. (The holidays are always hard for me.) This week I just started on Lyrica so we may decrease my Cymbalta in another month. I hope this info helps you. Let me know how it works for you.

Hi guys. I have been on Cymbalta for a few years and I have never had any of the side effects that I have heard others talk about, which is weird because with me if something can go wrong it will. My doc also told me to take it at bedtime because it makes you sleepy, soI'm kind of confused now that I see every one else takes it in the morning. I like taking it at night better though. It helps me with the pain. Its hard to tell from a day to day basis but if I miss a day I can really tell how much it does work. I hope this helps and that this new med works for you. I'll keep you in my prayers!

Good luck, soopergirl
