Has anyone tried physical therapy and/or acupuncture for fibro? What is physical therapy like? What is acupuncture like? Does anyone feel that weather affects how you feel pain wise?

I often times feel worse when it's rainy and/or cold.

I'm full of questions today, LOL!Tongue

I haven't yet but I hope to when I move. I'd really like to do water exercise and try acupuncture. From what I heard they are 2 great ways of therapy.

The weather is always making things worse for me. Not only does it makes me sleepy but my fibro fog gets worse and my entire body aches. Rainy & cold days do a number on me =/

I have not tried acupuncture for fibro yet... I had acupuncture after a wreck years ago and it did help. I does not hurt at all, I do remember getting a little restless at first until my stiffness and pain started to go away.

Spazzy, I hope maybe you can spend some more time with us Smile That would be nice!

I love that pic- it's booful!

I haven't had acupuncture. I have had pt. I thought it was useless except for two things. She ended up just finally giving me massages. That was great, and it did improve my range of motion, I just felt that a weekly massage was pretty extravagant. Especially considering it was the same co pay as to see a doctor.

I did however learn to love the balance ball. I don't actually exercise with it, I just use it to sit on. It's more comfortable than my expensive ergonomic office chair, and it allows me to spend more time at the computer.

Just don't as anybody else here about my balls, because they'll tell you stories!

Oh, and as for weather, I know everyone else has that problem, but I live in sunny Southern California where the weather is always nice, so I'm quite blessed in that respect.

It's good to know that I'm not alone in how weather affects a person with fibro. I definitely treasure warm weather. I feel so much better when it's warm outside.

Hi Spazy,

I have not had PT only because I cannot afford it at this time. I would love to try water therapy but last time I entered a swimming pool the water was so cold I thought my entire body would shut down I was in so much pain. I suggest a heated pool!!!! Don't think I will ever try accupunture, just not for me.

Nice to meet you,

Meemee
