Hi everyone.. Hope you are all having "at least an okay day "

So I just wanted to share a brief conversation I had with my daughter. She called me at work from her car, where she had just heard, only a part of, Dr. Oz (from Oprah) on a satelite radio show talking about fibro, CFS and she thinks MS. First she said he does believe fibro exists, but then she said he said, that they've found that 30 minutes of exercise a day works better than any medication. My daughter wants me to feel better so badly. She wanted to know if my walking helped my pain. I only walk a few days a week for about 45 minutes. But I know she was thinking (hoping) that if I just worked out 30 minutes a day I would feel fine or at least much better. So frustrating! Luckily my daughter is intelligent enough to know that it's not that simple in reality, but still, I wonder if this will be the new thing. We can just exercise our pain away. I wonder how that will help the tingling, numbing, weird feelings in your muscles...... You all know I could go on and on. I know I feel a little "stronger" when I walk consistently. Like maybe I won't just fall down and spazz (sp) out... which I've never done, but felt like it could happen someday. But it doesn't make my pain go away. And all the lovely stiffness is completely back in the morning. The the beautiful achiness, like the day after moving from one apartment to another, is once again visiting me after a long day at work or wherever. I am getting a little sarcastic here

Here's hoping everyone a restful night.

Vicki

When I tried walking that far I just was in more pain. I only can exercise a little bit. I have severe myofascial with mine. Wish it was that easy.
I have dystonia, neuropathy, gerd, arthritis, and fibromyalgia, carpal tunnel and other ailments. I enjoy embroidery, music, and reading my Bible and Christian books. I love to bake. I try to be very supportive and positive.

if exercise would make it that much better i'd be cured. i have a small farm and animals that get walked on leashes. so i walk maybe one and a half hours per day. all it does for me is makes me hurt more and sleep less. i guess it also keeps me from stiffening up.

Yeah, I also have myofascial pain. Doesn't it get so tiring explaining all our ailments to people, since I haven't talked to anyone who only has fibro. Like, well, yes I am not as stiff, but it doesn't help the other stuff. Then I need to explain the CMP I have in my neck and upper back, or the steal plate in my neck, that is not supposed to bother me, but does sometimes. If I go that far, I see that I am losing people's attention

Yeah, exercise is not the cure for fibromyalgia and I hope that Dr Oz doesn't go on Oprah and say that. I'm hoping my daughter missed a major portion of the program. She's going to try and catch it again if she can.
