MDJunction to me

"When I first came to MDJ, I was in a very dark place, and feeling quite alone, I don't know how I found this site, but I have been very grateful ever since, all of you have offered insight to the illness of Bipolar and the other things going on with me, being here has allowed me to find friends, and to feel safe in discussing things that I would never have shared before.

I believe it has also offered me the chance to reach out and help others. A simple Thank you, is all that I have to offer, to this site and to the wonderful people here.

I got my letter today from the SS office. Of course I can appeal the decision but dh said that we can't wait for the whole appeals process because we can't afford for me not to work.

So regardless as much pain as I am in I am gonna have to go to work and just suffer through it since we can't afford for me not to work any longer and I need to get a job. So I guess I will just work right through the pain and deal with it the best that I can. I currently have insurance through the state and I'm sure that once we get jobs that have good insurance I'll be able to continue on with my medications. I guess if it gets too bad I will have to start the process all over again and hopefully dh will have the patience to have to wait with the SS administration.

That's my update thus far. It's not the greatest news, guess I'm getting used to that.

it is almost unheard of to get it on the 1st try. I really think that they try to discourage people by making them jump threw hoops. Most of the people that I have talked to have been turned down 2 or 3times. Some people even more.

I would fight it as I know that it is rarely heard of to get it on the first time but dh can't stick it out through the process without leaving me cause I can't help him financially.

He would leave you over this?????That should be a wake up call for you sweetie. You need to ask yourself some really hard questions, and yes maybe stand back and take a hard look at your relationship. I am saying this to you from a point of one wifeandmom to another.I was scared that I would lose everything when I first quit my job,and guess what----I DID,and I am still standing. I lost my job,my friends,my home and my marriage within a 2 year period and right before Christmas. The good news is I feel better,we have had time to really look at the things WE did wrong and out of the ashes will either be the best marriage ever or I will go on alone and I will be okay.I have come to realise, that I am an important person, and my health and well being is important for MY future. You are the only one who can live your life, and if you don't take care of you who will? If you fear him leaving you over money, what will he do when you can no longer take care of the house or the kids or do stuff for him or heaven forbid what if something happened and you couldn't even take care of yourself. You have a valid medical condition that you didn't ask for and don't deserve and you have to do what is best for you. I wish you all the best, and I really, really do understand what this is doing to you.

wife and mom- if you do not make over a certain amount of money per month, I think it is $900 gross, you can still appeal the SSD. Check on the website www.ultimatedisabilityguide.com

Good luck and I will put you in my prayers.
