MDJunction to me

Macv"For me, MDjunction has been a place where I can share my experiences
living with the very rare bone disease called Ollier's ( Enchondromatosis ) with the parents of children recently diagnosed. I can help them not to run
into the pitfalls my parents did when I was young, give them a bit of a view
from their child's perspective and simply be there to offer support and
hope to people who are scared and just had their lives upended. I also belong to a chronic pain group and it's been a Godsend to be able to actually
talk with others who understand what I'm dealing with. Besides them helping me through my tough times, I can be there to help them as well. Here too, I can use my years of experience to help others avoid pitfalls and it makes me feel good, gives my life more purpose. MDjunction brings people
together when their suffering, at their darkest and feeling alone in this world and allows some light to be brought back into their lives. HOPE, that's what
MDjunction means to me!

Does anyone know of a good Fibro Doctor in NW Arkansas. Maybe a Doctor that believes in treating pain with pain pills.

Bri, I take it the new script isn't working well? Is your doctor a rheumy? I think usually we have a lot better chance with them.

Maybe there's a local Fibro Association chapter you could call to get some names.

If that doesn't work, maybe you can at least get a referral to a pain clinic.

I wish I could help you more. Now, if you ever need an adolescent psychiatrist, the best one in the world is in Arkansas. THAT I could help you with.

Hopefully, someone will pop by who knows more than I do about the area.

I am so sorry that I cannot help you there, my experience has found that I can talk to and get better cooperation from a pain mgmt md. He tends to listen to me better and will give me something to try to relieve the pain. That is their line of work so they are a little bit better at that. Good luck and I hope you find someone soon. Let us know how you are doing.

Bri did you try looking at www.fmaware.org there is a FM friendly doctor listing on there, it is the National Fibromyalgia Assn webpage.

Bri, I have a link to a couple sites that list patient recommended doctors for fibro by state. Unfortunately it is not on this computer.Smile I'll look for it later today. Just don't give up. I know how frustrating it is. For over 3 years they shoved antidepressants down my throat, which I needed them for depression but they did nothing for my pain. But I have found a doc that is treating my pain now. They are out there and if you don't give up you will find one.
I am not a doctor. Please consult with your doctor before following any advice given by myself or anyone else on this or any other forum.

You're in NW Arkansas? That's where I moved to Florida from. Smile I'm sorry I can't help you with a doctor though. I had no success when I lived there.

I jumped from doctor to doctor and they all told me there was nothing wrong with me and maybe I should get a psychological evaluation. I couldn't get any help until I moved to Florida. I hope you have more success than I did. Sad Maybe Amommy's list will help.

I am NOT a doctor. My advice is purely based on my own personal experience and study. You should always consult your doctor before messing with your meds or adding supplements.
