Ok, I feel as though I keep asking questions, but I am new to fibromyalgia and have so many questions!! My question is, when you press on a part of your body, does the pain feel as though you are bruised? Everytime I press on certain parts of my body, it feels as though that body part is bruised. I am just curious if this pain is consistent with the fibro. Thanks!!

Fibromyalgia for Dummies (a book) says that those sore points are definitely a sign of the disease. I have spots near my knees and in all of my soft tissue that feel bruised all the time. I also have this feeling like I've been lifting really heavy weights and my muscles are sore. I don't lift weights, I just get the sore muscles of people who do.
I can't do everything all the time, but I can do some things some of the time.

It can feel like a bruise, or really hurt bad.
I have dystonia, neuropathy, gerd, arthritis, and fibromyalgia, carpal tunnel and other ailments. I enjoy embroidery, music, and reading my Bible and Christian books. I love to bake. I try to be very supportive and positive.

May the moon softly restore you by night ,
May the rain wash away any worries you may have,
And the breeze blow new strength into your being,
And then, all the days of your life,
May you walk gently through the world, and know it’s beauty and yours.

Imcclure, I also have areas that feels like it might be bruised, but no bruise in sight, I have burning in the hips and shoulders very very often. I think if I actually lifted weights, I would be paying the price for a while! LOL But your right kesslmama I would look a lot better!

To answer your question, I think that yes this seems to be consistent with Fibro.

Yeah I think its a common feeling. Or if someone comes and touches you like on the back. Then 5 seconds later the touch all of a sudden feels like they might as well punched you there. Or days even your hair feels really heavy on your head. I have all of that and the Fibro clinic said it was all signs of fibro..Oh and the seat belt that feels like its putting 100 pounds of pressure on your chest or the bra that has to come off because if it don't you feel you can't breathe...I have a long list. Ok I will stop posting now and go try to find a life in my house : )

WOW...the HAIR THING!! I can't BELIEVE THIS!!!

I was (okay AM) going gray and have been for a looooooooong time...but thank you Clairol!! Anyhow, I got it dyed ONE LAST TIME a few weeks ago and my hairdresser (and best friend) talked me into a spiral perm!

I like to dry it and curl it with the curling iron, except for the fact that it takes FOREVER cuz I can't hold my arms up for that long. Anyhow, my husband likes it when I put 'product' in it and have the 'wet, spiral look'. But I told him that I couldn't stand it that way. I can't stand it at all!! It's all HEAVY and when I wear it feeling wet...it's even HEAVIER and I can't stand it!

Wow...I thought I was just being a weirdo (no comments please...LOL )...but it's FIBRO?!?!

Well......I'll be!
