Please check on me later today to see if I survived. I'm a little worried about solidifying afterward. My mantra is "stretch.....stretch.....stretch......"

sounds fun...if you take it easy. I miss swimming, I used to go but can't afford the gym membership anymore. Hey, Adewyn-How would I go about getting insurance to possibly help pay for it?

the pool company up here owns a gym and 2 heated pools... i gave them a prescription and a letter from my doctor saying that swimming would be beneficial for my condition and my insurance card...she said that she has gotten many people memberships thru there insurance she is dealing with it all i just had to provide her with all the information

this is what she wrote to me :

need (along with a copy or the original prescription) the name, address & fax number of your insurance company. Your agent's name (if you have it), your claim number (or your social security number - unless you don't feel comfortable giving it out), and what type of membership your doctor has recommended for you (ie. 1-mo, 3-mo, 6-mo or 1 yr.). I will get an invoice out in tomorrow's mail if you can get me these things. If you have a fax number for your insurance company, that would really speed things along. I've been invoicing insurance company's for a long time now on our customer's behalf and I've learned that they tend to "drag their feet" when issuing payment. If you can get the prescription to me at my office tomorrow (Friday) or to one of my staff members at the indoor pool, that would be great.

everyone should try this with there local Y or Pool facility in there area.. since this is THE best exercise that we ALL can benefit by.. i figure with my consisent schedule at work i can go after work for a hour or so and get back my mobilty and get back in to shape.. lose some of this weight to see if it will help with the pain..I am just excited someone is trying to help me with something i need Smile

Melly, what do you do at the y, about the only thing I can do is walk or get in the hot tub, I tried to get in the pool today but it hurt because it was to cool for me.

bc...when I was going to the warm pool, just walking around in the water and doing GENTLE exercises in the deeper water were helping (along with the warmer water and jets-I LOVE jets!). I'd just stand at the side of the pool so I could hold on to the edge and slowly swing my legs forward, backward and to the sides, straighten my arms out and do similar movements with them. I'd get in the deeper water and twist at the waist from side to side, then bend from one side to the other.

There are a lot of things you can do in the water...you just have to make sure you're in deep enough water that you get a little resistance but not move so fast you hurt yourself.

Then the best part is to stand in front of the jets at back level or sit on the ledge so it hits your lower back...awww man! Did I mention that I love jets?

Uh-oh! I wonder if this is not a good sign that we haven't heard back from Melly! I hope she's all right.

I miss swimming so much. I used to go 90 minutes a day, six days a week. I don't even go to the hot tub anymore, which is just stupid. It's just down stairs. I know it helps. It's just that getting ready tires me out so!
