MDJunction to me

"In the 3 months I have been with MDJunction I have developed a sense of calmness. I now friends who do not judge me because I have been a mental mess at times. It is such a good feeling to have friends I can tell my deepest thoughts and always get back to me with their support. I have never seen a therapist for long periods of time. Right or wrong, this is the best therapy possible for me. Thanks Roy for getting this up and running and making such a difference in my life. Sara" (saralaurie)

Before I got "sick" with FM I found my hubbies snoring annoying, but I could stick it out. Until I started having trouble sleeping....what a joy ride that has been!

Anyways, hubby had a sleep study and found out he has sleep apnea, and I started using ear plugs. This was ok for awhile, and the sleeping pills the dr gave me helped. After a while I couldn't sleep because hubby would always be moving his feet and making the bed move. Can you see where this is leading?

We got a new bed! A king size bed "bowling ball bed" that claimed you couldn't feel your partner move! HAH!! I could still feel the bed move

Then... we returned the mattress and got to twin XL mattresses to go on top of the box springs[they come split with a King sized bed], we had to make separate frames as I could still feel the bed move, thus no sleep for cinnabon!

About3-4yrs later, we can't sleep in the same room anymore because 1) hubby won't use his Cpap and still snores 2) my sleep is so screwed up that I don't sleep till usually 1-2 am and my hubby needs to sleep so he can go to work the next day!

I never thought that in my 40's I'd be sleeping in a seaparate bedroom from my husband! I thought only the Flinstones did that!

But I have come to realize how extremely important sleep is, and who says it has to be in the same bed? If we can't sleep we can't function. The sleep I do get is totally NON restorative as it is, but, better than nothing I guess.

Anyone else care to share their story? I am sure I am not the only one here that is in this situation!

You gotta do what you gotta do!

It's funny but before my husband and I seperated I got to the same point as you in not being able to sleep with him. He moves alot in his sleep and tends to put his arms around me when he sleeps. This woke me up and I never seemed to get good sleep. Now that we are apart,I miss his arms around me and the way he sounds when he sleeps(the good and the bad). Now that we are trying to reconcile, spending the night and sleeping with each other has become the highlight of our time together. I know this may sound stupid, but be very careful that if you can't sleep with each other, you find a way to obtain intimacy in your relationship,it's a very vital ingredient.

good point kychick. We do cuddle and stuff, but not as much as my hubby would like. But I do agree with you, you do miss out on that part of intimacy. something to always keep in mind. Thanks for bring that up as a reminder for me

No problem,I just I wish I had realised it earlier, but it's never too late and we are in a good place to put this thing back together, slow and easy. Maybe I had to go through this to help others, and also to see for myself how much I have allowed(yes I said allowed) this to affect me in ways that i could have prevented.Oh and don't forget the sex,it's sooooo very important.Just enjoy the intimacy of being toether closely if nothing else.(Hope this wasn't too much advice LOL)

Sorry I couldn't resist Simon. LOL bit if I need to be on topic I sleep on the couch alot so hubby can get a good night sleep unfortunately that takes me away from my CPAP and my good night sleep. The sacrifices I make. Ok now I'm on topic. haha
