Yep! The quieter it is, the louder the ringing seems to be.

Yes! I have been to ENT's and they could not find anything that would be causing it. It drives me nuts!!! I have to have the TV or something else on so it is not as bad.

I keep forgetting to tell my Drs about it. I am so used to it that I sometimes don't notice it until night - of course - after the Dr. appnt.

Ladies, it's tinnitus. Lots of medications can cause it. In fact, aspirin is a leading culprit. Nothing can be done about it unless you try some of the otc preparations. I've never tried them, so I don't know how well they work.

I've had it all my life. Sometimes it's loud enough to drive you absolutely crazy.

Tinnitus is a nerve condition. It has something to do with the nerves in the ear. It's not necessarily caused by medications, but some medications can cause it.

Like I said, I've had it all my life. Way before I was on any kind of medications. Until I was about 30 I just assumed everybody heard it.

Supposedly they do have new tests and treatments for it, but when I asked my ENT about it he pooh poohed me. I even read about one test where they can actually hear what you're hearing. I don't like my ent!

If you already have it, you may notice that some medications, i.e., aspririn, will make it worse.

If you don't have it, when you stop the medication that causes it, the ringing will also stop.

Does that make sense?

Many, many, many medications can bring it on or make it worse if you already have it.

Let me know if your ent will actually do any of those news tests for it. Mine was just a butt head about the whole thing.

Some of my prescriptions make mine worse, but since I already have it, I don't really keep track of which ones. It's just something I live with.
