That is so random - I really thought I was the only one. I HATE talking on the phone. I have to prep myself for phone calls and get super anxious when my phone rings, even though I have nothing to worry about. It might just be part of my anxiety, but I've never told anyone this before. It takes me days, sometimes weeks to call people back.
I am not a doctor or medical professional so all of my comments are purely opinion or from personal experience. I have FM, mild scoliosis, bursitis, and IBS. Feel free to PM me anytime if you need to chat.

Maybe all the time I spent on the phone at work is why I no longer have long phone conversations with anyone except my daughter, my ex-bf or my late friend George. Anyone else except one of my brothers, I let the call go to voicemail. I just don't have the energy anymore to do anything I don't want to do and I hate when they say, "how are you?" They don't care!! They're just asking so I can say, "I'm fine, how are you?" So they can tell me how miserable they are etc...

If I was planning on being buried I'd leave directions to my daughter to have "I'm fine!" on my headstone. I constantly say it...even to my tdoc. That's how I ended up in PTSD therapy 24 years after the trauma, by saying "I'm fine!" when anyone or everyone asked.

But yeah, I hate the phone. I do sooo love caller ID.

Wow, so this is right up there with finding out that most of us don't shower on a regular basis! We don't like talking on the phone, either! Too, too funny!

It does seem to take up a lot of energy, doesn't it? It's very tiring.

Rayn, on my epitaph, I want "My TODO list is finally done!"

I love the caller ID and cn usually find a way to get out of some calls. I can manage the shower 99% of the time. It is so hard to follow conversations sometimes.

You know what is sweet at though at the locally owned grocery store where I have shopped forever the staff is aware of the FMS and other things I have going on. They will gently remind me of where something is or show me whats on sale,. They make the horrid grocery shopping trip so much better. The one lady at customer service with the managers blessing lets my little girl behind the counter someitmes. Oh and at the register they are so sweet about the fibrofog and will go get or send someone to get that loaf of bread or what ever the need may be. Of course after nearly 29 years of going there I think they know me. Oh and they have a shopping service for people who have difficulties getting out and about and for seniors..

Oh, Gheersmom! That is really sweet of them! You're very, very lucky!

I always feel like a total fool when I tender the wrong amount of cash! I should ALWAYS use my debit card! LOL! Half the time I don't even read the register amount right, but that's my dyslexia, not the fibro!!! LOL!

Oh paying cash!! That is so hard and I'm so glad that the cashiers so far at Trader Joe's have been patient and trustworthy...they give me the extra dollar, five dollar bill, whatever back. I hate to use my debit card because so often under stress (people crowding me from behind!) I forget my pin. If I do, I let my mind go blank (easy, it's blank most of the time) and let my fingers do the walking...they remember my pin even when I don't LOL...

Rayn that is an issue too with me and the PIN numbers. Sometimes I can run debit as credit and the bank will give me back a few cents with those transactions. I do not have to worry about those pins that way.
