I was wondering if anyone has tried any of the detox diets or colon cleansers. I have tried them a couple of times and it seems to help, but after going back to eating the same types of food, it doesn't last long. I believe if I did this then was able to eat only organic foods it would help a lot. But organic foods are not easy to find close to where I live and if you do find them, it's very expensive. Please tell me what you think.

hi there and welcome to the site. I have done detox diets and haven't really noticed a difference except that I am losing weight like crazy. I eat really healthy though, even if it isn't organic. I eat only fruits, veggies, turkey, and chicken. I sometimes make stuff with stevia so I can have something sweet but I stick to this regiment pretty firmly. I dont see a difference physically, but I feel much better mentally when I am eating right. I hope this helps and that you will be able to find answers to all of your questions here. I look forward to getting to know you!

Much love and many prayers,

tiredofbeingtired welcome to the site. I haven't tried a detox in years but I do think they are good for you, I don't know about how much they would help with firo> I too try to eat organic and all natural but with three kids and a husband it is too much on me to be very strict. It's very expensive too. We buy certain foods organic like tomatoes and thin skinned fruits and veggies but other things, like thick skinned foods we don't. I do feel better when I eat healthy foods. anything with MSG I avoid because it causes me so much pain.

I have been doing colonics and have cut out sugar, flour, cut caffeine by a ton and started taking my vitamins again (magnesium, D, B complex and folic acid. Also, taking a yeast and fungal 'killer' suppliment and an adrenal replenish suppliment.

The Colonics lady said my colon is not really working very well, but have released a ton of toxins and this last colonic released alot of 'bad'. She said it took 15 colonics before she felt better and it took a week on the adrenal suppliments and she said it was like day and night. She was dx w/ fibro, CFS and a host of other bad things, like all of us. But she is 100% now. I have had 6 colonics and been on adrenal suppliments for 3 days. May be a fluke, but I actually had a productive day yesterday. I had to push myself a little, but had some ambition.

Im going to keep up with all and see how I feel. Why not. I have already lost 5 pounds, too.

By the way, Hampton had good luck with that allergy doc in TX, too.

In my opinion, after reading so much, the pills they throw at us for this and that are adding to what we already suffer. Too many toxins. I don't know the answer, wish I did, but I honestly think adrenals, hormones and toxins are responsible for what's wrong. That's just my opinion.

I did the juice detox, and try to do it every chance I get. It seems to help some, after doing for several days.

I don't think there is 'one' cure, but I have to think the natural route is better than the drug route, for me.

I also don't think the tests they do for hormones and blood tests are sensitive enough. Or that doctors agree on the readings.

Some docs say any B12 level below 500 requires injections, my doc felt 243 was NORMAL! I had to find another doc and beg for the shots and after 6 months, 248! I finally decided to basically heal myself with extra injections- alot, and then scored over 1000. Some of my pain did subside. Most notibly the foot and ankle pain. My balance got much better.

Sorry to go on and on.

Getting back to the subject of detox, I have read that a water fast is not good for our problems and could make condition worse.

BTW, I'm also doing coffee enema's a couple times a week and it has been helping with evacuation....sorry so gross!

I do coffee enemas once a week (well I'm supposed to anyway ) and that is down from two a day. Not fun, but aparently good for you.
