My Dear Fibromite Friends; No this is not a plea for contributions. But I am asking for help from all of you, at least intellectually. Of course you all know that I have fibro. I am not the problem. My daughter has been suffering from an illness called Cyclic Vomiting Syndrone, for the past 3 years. At least that was the last diagnose she received. She has the worst cramps, spasms,IBS, and vomiting, continous. She spends half of her life in the hospital, to replenish her fluids and pain management. She will come home for a few days and then after 3 or 4 days have to go back in again. We all know the toll, being ill takes on us. She gets depressed, and then of course has her mood swings. We all feel this being sick constantly. Depression goes hand in hand with any long term illness. At first they diagnosed Celiac Disease, treated her for IBS, and depression and finally called it Cyclic Vomiting Syndrone.

My problem is that she is getting more and more depressed and fed up with her life.

She has seen specialist, after specialist. And yet she still suffers.

What Im asking from all of you is, that if any of you have any suggestions, ideas, or remember anyone having the same problems please post and let me know.

Thanks in advance foggy:

i have had a spasmatic stomach all my life. when i was little i was on meds that would relax me and i had maybe two minutes to eat before i would either pass out or vomit again. fortunately they kept me alive long enough for drug advances. i took muscle relaxers pain killers and anti anxiety meds until i was 12. unfortunatly i became an alcoholic of which also releived the symptoms without the tiredness. now i am back on the anti anxiety meds, anti depressents acid reflux meds, and pain meds to deal with the stomach as well as all the fibro drugs. i don't know how i can be of help except to pray for her of which i will do with no problem. best wishes to all of you.

Foggy, I just come back from seeing a dr in texas!! I too had stomach problems most of my life. I have found out that I have allergies that I wasn't aware of. Now that I'm on the allergy drops I no longer have any of the stomach problems I used to have. Its just a thought but has she had extensive allergy testing done. It could be anything airborne or food related. I'm sorry to hear about her and have hopes that she will find relief soon.

Oh Foggy I know how hard this is for you. I feel your pain mother to mother. My daughter who is now 29 has also suffered with chronic pancreatitis and now has a 100% fatty liver called NASH(basically meaning it is non-alcohol related). She finally went to a specialty clinic in Indianappolis(we're in Ky. so that's a little drive)but she now has a team of doctors addressing all her needs finally after 6 years. I know how hard it is to be sick all the time, but to watch one of your babies go through this is so heartbreaking as a mom. My advice is get her to whatever clinic or hospital it takes. You and she will have to do this on your own because doctors just don't know everything and most are to pig headed to admit that. This is where the internet is a wonderful thing. There has to be something that can be done somewhere(Mayo Clinic-What do you think Craig?) Just an example. Don't give up and don't let her. You guys are in my thoughts and prayers and if you need me I am an e-mail away or a pm.

Foggy I am sooo very sorry to hear of your daughters illness.I know what its like to watch one of your babies suffer and not be able to help. Does anyone know wha triggers her episodes, lik maybe stress, excitement,or eating certain foods? Sometimes knowing what they are can help prevent episodes. I agree with Hampton allergy testing is a good idea also. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your daughter, feel free to PM me anytime.
May life always bring you laughter.
