MDJunction to me

"MDJunction to me is a life saver... when i first was diagnosed with Scheuermann's Disease i wrote a message to a page i found on google, hoping that they could help me.... you'd never know it but that weird feeling (you know that one where it feels like someone actually cares) came over me when i opened my email next day to find that someone on the other side of the world (at the American Medical Library)had read my message while i was sleeping, and there low and behold was the address to MDJunction.... well it is everything to me, i live it breathe it and love it!!!!! I have found many people who are struggling with similar issues banding together to help each other. It is the best place in the world, and i couldn't think of another place to go to meet so many lovely people....

thanks MDJunction

A few weeks ago I had a thoracic spine epidural injection that aggravated my neck and lower back pain. The doctor then tried a set of trigger point injections. I didn't really see much difference from them. I was scheduled for a second round of shots today. My doctor decided not do them. He Suggested/gave me a referral for a chronic pain program at a good hospital in the area. He said at first that the program is pretty intense and alot of running to the doctor. However you have all different kinds of doctors working together on you to get you relief. Since my case in complicated it would be good for me. Has anybody been through this?

FYI-Besides Fibro I have neck, upper and lower back issues as well as Arthritis through out my body.

I haven't been through that, but I have been through injections in my back, shoulders and one in my hand. They got rid of the huge muscle lumps things that we get(I'm at a loss for words right now, the fibro and my step-son is fighting with his mom and I'm getting calls) in our backs, but left pain for 6 weeks. I couldn't move my arm. I had to get an injection in my hand because a lump started forming umder my middle-finger (haha) and it kept getting stuck. The injection helped that and I haven't had much of a problem for 2 years. I have never been offered a spinal epidural injection.

I got 7 shots inbetween my shoulder blades. Summer are you sure you dont have a bone spur? When I could not move my arm at all I went to orthopedic and found out I had lrg. bone spur that had to be removed.

Anyway, I was told I was going to get a nerve block but dr never did it.

I have dystonia, neuropathy, gerd, arthritis, and fibromyalgia, carpal tunnel and other ailments. I enjoy embroidery, music, and reading my Bible and Christian books. I love to bake. I try to be very supportive and positive.

Hi singingangel,

I'm not sure of anything. I'll mention it to my doc the next time I go. But he says he doesnt feel anything in my back each time I go in. My husband will give me a gentle massage and it helps, but the pain always comes back. Thanks for the info.

I have a cortisone shot in my hip once every 4 months or so. My neck, shoulders, and upper back bother me a lot- so they tried giving me some injections in the shoulders. I was in SO much more pain, it was truly unbearable.

My rheumy ended up sending me to have an MRI. I have bursitis in my shoulders. Not much they can do about it.

I hope you figure out what's going on with that, and get to feeling better soon.

Thanks Amy. Sorry to hear about the bursitis. What is that like on top of Fibro?

Thanks for asking Summer. It's awful, terribly painful. A heating pad sometimes provides a little relief though. (Heating pads aren't good for ya though.)

Sure. I sometimes use this Fibro spray I bought in Canada. It's by Swissmedic (O24+ Fibromyalgia spray). It's kinda like that icy hot, but all natural and just for people with fibro. It's better than nothing and can relieve the pain from sore muscles and or joints and tender points.

Sorry for your pain.

I went through two rounds of epidural spinal injections in my back. The shots did nothing for my pain. After the second shot, my blood pressure dropped to 80/40 and I passed out. One of my legs felt on fire, the other one was like icecubes. Of course everyone at the hospital started to panic. Needless to say, I wanted to scream.

It will be interesting to see if the chronic pain program helps. It sounds like it is worth a try. Please keep us updated.

Terri
