I have to say, it's hard for me to read posts like this because they always make me cry. You're right. It's silly for you to keep paying for meds that do nothing. It's even sillier for them to keep insisting that you take them when they do nothing. What a waste.

I hope you are able to find some help soon. It breaks my heart when people are suffering and they don't need to. I wish I could help, but all I can do is wish you the best. Please keep us posted in your search.

I am NOT a doctor. My advice is purely based on my own personal experience and study. You should always consult your doctor before messing with your meds or adding supplements.

It's time to move on. I hope you can find a Dr. that will treat you well and keep changing your meds until you find a combo that works for you. Good luck

Donyia, I'm in a very similar situation to yours. My doctor doesn't listen when I tell him the tramadol isn't working either and won't prescribe opioids. Did you know that tramadol is actually a synthetic opioid? A mild one, but still it binds to the same opioid receptors as narcotics, and it's potentially addictive. My doctor, or I should say old doctor, will prescribe xanax, valium, restoril, ambien, all of which have potential for abuse and addiction, but won't give me something effective for pain. What's up with these idiots? Do they think we are that stupid? I've been going to this guy for 2 years or more, have had several drug tests and never ever tested positive for anything. Why do they treat us like drug seekers when we've never given them a reason to suspect it other than asking them to treat our pain. OK I'm going to stop now before I really get going. The point is I understand your frustration and anger. It's time to find another doctor. I'm going this afternoon to apply for a sliding fee at another doctors office. This clinic comes highly recommended by my best friend. She says they listen better than any doctor she's ever seen. I came to the conclusion that my doctor is never going to listen to me when at my last appointment he asked me how my pain was and then turned his back to me and walked across the room before I even answered and then didn't even acknowledge what I said. Then when I asked him about provigil to help me get through the day he snapped No at me, told me it was addictive, and gave me a prescription for ambien, which is also addictive.? The ambien is helping with sleep, but I'm beginning to think that he's afraid that if he helps me stay awake during the day that I'll drive him crazy. It seems he just wants to make me sleep so he doesn't have to deal with me. OK I said I was going to stop didn't I?Laughing I'm sorry you are dealing with this. Just know you aren't alone. It's nothing personal with you, some doctor's are just jerks.
I am not a doctor. Please consult with your doctor before following any advice given by myself or anyone else on this or any other forum.
