MDJunction to me

"I have been struggling with Fibromyalgia, Bipolar, Anxiety, Post traumatic Syndrome for quite some time and pretty much going it alone. I stumbled across MDJunction by accident. I stayed in the shadows and just watched for four days and then I joined, feeling relieved and excited to have found a safe place with alot of folks that I could relate to . It's proove to be medically and emotionally
helpful to me and now I can't go a day without coming in at least 4 or five times a day! I Love my family here.

I have been helping my husband move and I have totally over done it. I helped carry the big screen tv, recliners and I carried the recliner with my daugther. I have been carrying all kinds of stuff. I'm paying for it today. My back is killing me, my arms feel wierd like there is no feeling my fingers are numb so its' interesting typing. The hubby hasn't been to helpful or understanding that I walk around like an old lady or even get up. He thinks it's funny. I'd like to see him in my body.

But I'm alive so far. But I may be seriously laid up that's for sure.

My husband laughs and jokes when I hobble around like an old lady too. He's generally supportive, but his way of reacting to my really bad days is through humor. Sometimes I appreciate it and other times it makes me crazy! The other day as I was shuffling (literally) from the bedroom to the kitchen he said, "Come on rest-home Mabel, I'll take you to the activity room..." I thought it was cute and laughed. A few days before, he said something like, "It's time to get the old lady her slippers and send her to bed (at like 6:30 pm)." To which I pouted, gave him a dirty look, and proceeded to clean the kitchen loudly to prove I wasn't too tired to function (Who was I kdding?). Does any of this sound familiar? I kinda feel sorry for the guy. He never knows when he'll hit a nerve and when he won't.

Take it easy!!! I bet it was interesting to type with numb fingers. Hmmmn.

I feel even though people say they understand how I(we) feel, they seem surprised, confused and almost ticked off if we don't seem sick to them. Our disease is constantly being tested and I am so sick of hearing the stereotypical lines about how great I look if I decide to put make-up on. Mascara does not make the pain go away, but glittery lip gloss is fun. Since I've had to quit my job, I have become "errand girl" for family and friends. "Well, since you're home anyway...Since you don't do anything all day...All you really have to do is...It's not that hard, I'd do it but I have to work - I could go on.

Does any of this sound familiar to anyone?

yes, people can be so annoying. I guess I'm lucky because I actually look sick a lot of the time. I have pale skin and dark circles under my eyes, you can tell when I'm not doing well. I do hate that people assume that since I put on some lip gloss, or i actually have color in my face that I am feeling better. I'm not, i'm just sick of looking like crap! Well, there is my two cents.

a day without laughter is a day wasted.

It does sound like you've been overdoing. Take care of yourself. Take a nice long hot bath. (Make sure you lock the door and tell no one to bother you! )

Hang in there.

Boy do I know how you feel...if I don't do the house work,it doesn't get done! And I am almost always overdoing it...but the way I look at it is I will try to as much as I can for as long as I can...because one day I may not be able to do it...I say that now, but after a long weekend with all the kids...and activities and house work...I need the hot bath and the heating pad! lol
