My brother told me that he seen a show on television that claims bee stingers are great for patients with fibro, he didn't catch much more other then, it has been proven to be very, very successful, even better than any meds. Anyone hear about this????

OMG~~~~!!!!!!!! I'm afraid I would have to forgo that treatment option. I freak out BIG TIME around any insect that buzzes and stings.....I know I would have a heart attack and die from stress.

I also read that botox injections are beneficial for FM...has anyone else heard about that?

Love,
Casty

casty-I get botox injections for myofacial pain. I usually have it done every three months, it does help with the pain, but its BAD for about a week. They have to get to a certain point within your muscle so they do it with EMG. Mine are from the back of my head down into my shoulder. I have calcified tissue there so its REALLY bad having it done. The needles are crazy for where I get mine, and they always bend, the doc is always wore out by the time he's done. My hubby cant stand to watch or listen, we can hear the needles going through all that! We about had our daughter pass out one time! The doc said he doesnt know how many people hes had to pick up off the floor. He always says "you ok? you need a break? You still with me?!!" Last time I seen him I heard the guy in the next room hit the floor, then the doc calling for a nurse. By the time he got to me and I was done i walked out and the guy that passed out was sitting there drinking water and my doc said "This girl right here, shes my best patient! She stays still, doesnt complain, doesnt make me stop & Ive never had to pick her up off the floor!" The guy looks at me and says "You must be insane"!

Hi, I'm laura aka fibormom. I was asked if I wanted bee injections in 2000. I'm severly allergic to all bees except honey bees. I get allergy shots weekly for them all. But, yes It's said to do wonders for fibormyalgia and chronic pain. Don't no myself but I heard it really works.

casty-I have SEVERE pain from the process not the botox. Its really painful for about a week, and then it starts to slowly get a little better. But you really have to have someone that knows what they are doing, I only trust the doc I go to, if he stopped doing it I wouldnt have it done.

Welcome Laura and Connie I hope that you find the group friendly and helpful. I have never heard of bee injections but I think they would have a hard time talking me into them.
