Ahh dreams. Mine are mostly so bizarre that I cannot piece them together the next morning. I know my dogs are in my dreams alot. Sometimes I dream one of them gets temporarily lost. ( I would die if that ever happened). Anyway, what about having the SAME dream over and over???

Here it is: A little background first- my sister died in a car accident when she was 19 in 1986. I have never gotten over it.

Ok so the dream:

My other sister and I are at the cemetary where Ellen is buried. We wait for a big bright light in the sky to come, and then we gently call her name. She comes to us in a beautiful white flowing dress and we all three get to have 5 hrs to be together. We go driving in a car, laughing and having fun. Then we have to go back to the cemetary and her grave and coffin is ready for her. We tuck her in and she is gone.

Ok sorry so morbid. But I have it all the time.

Can anyone interpret this?

It drives me crazy.

Dear Mamanordy,

I have very vivid dreams also, I have had these dreams my entire life. I have had some recurring dreams similar to the one you describe about your sister. Mine are also about loved ones who have passed. And I am always spending time with them, either talking or just hanging out - before they got sick - like in their younger years. When I wake up from these dreams I always feel good, like I was just given a gift. I was able to spend more time with them and time when they were not sick.

I'm sorry for your loss, that had to be very tragic. After I read your dream, I didn't think it was morbid at all, I thought it was wonderful actually. It's like she's an angel coming from heaven. It's almost like she's telling you she's fine, she safe, she's happy, she's in heaven and she's watching over you. I got really good feelings from your dream. I think there must be something significant with the fact that the three of you are driving in a car, I'm just not sure what. You don't get in an accident in your dream, you are all safe and laughing and you end up making sure you sister is safe before you leave. Can I ask you something, how do you feel when you wake up? I can not interpret dreams or anything like that, I am only telling you how it made me feel and I was just wondering how it made you feel.

Wow...I wish I could interpret dreams...but I can't. I can say that even though this dream drives you crazy...it's actually a very beautiful one. You're getting these 5 hours ALL OF THE TIME to spend with both of your sisters. Then, you let her go where she's supposed to be...and it's bright and happy and I hear...'quiet' when she's going back.

I do know that my Acupuncturist asks me EVERY TIME I see her if I have "night terrors", "nightmares" or "bothersome type dreams".

Maybe it's a part of Fibro???

Maybe you think of her when you go to sleep and you feel cheated that she died so early in your life. It seem like you meet her and go out like you would have normally done and then she returns to where she needs to be and you tuck her in which allows you to know that she is okay where she is at.

This is just what I would think.but I'm no expert. They do say that angels visit. The "Womans World" magazine always has a section on this.

Mamandory,

Your recurring dream about your sister is your minds way of coping with your emotions concerning her death. You state that you "never got over it", which explains why the dream is recurring. Every so often, something triggers thoughts of your sister in your waking life and then you dream of her.

I don't see the "morbid" in your dream. What I see is your mind coping with your emotions. "Tucking her in" is a gentle, loving thing we do..it's not meant in any other way.

I'm sorry for your loss, Mamandory.

Bless you,

Ms. Jessie

Mamanordy, I think this is a beautiful dream. I think it's pretty cool that you get to spend that time with your sisters laughing and spending good quality time together. In reading your posts, it seems like family time is really important to you, like it is to me. I cherish those times when I really feel emotionally close to my family. Your dream reminds me of that...that you are spending some great quality time togehter then making sure your sister is safe before you wake up. Personally, I think it is your way of remembering your sister and the time you cherished with her ~ very beautiful!

Debbi,

I'm so glad that when you wake up you feel good inside about being able to see your sister again. You are blessed and so lucky to have those dreams. Cherish them.
