MDJunction to me

"When I first came to MDJ, I was in a very dark place, and feeling quite alone, I don't know how I found this site, but I have been very grateful ever since, all of you have offered insight to the illness of Bipolar and the other things going on with me, being here has allowed me to find friends, and to feel safe in discussing things that I would never have shared before.

I believe it has also offered me the chance to reach out and help others. A simple Thank you, is all that I have to offer, to this site and to the wonderful people here.

I don't play tennis, why do they call it that?

Does anybody else have tendinitis? I have it in several areas. I don't play sports

The only thing I can think of is all the repetitive keyboard stuff I used to do at work?

Now I know why I can't really use my left arm again & don't have much feeling in my hand (although my arms hurts like ####!

When my husband got home from work last night I took my lovely red robe off & had him look at my elbow & sure enough it's all blown up My hand is swollen also. He asked me if I had any water pills, & I did fill a scrip that I never used so I took a 20mg of lasix at 8:00 last night. Of course I was up peeing all night, I'm going to take one again today & I've been icing my elbow.

I had a steroid shot for it back in November I think, although the doc seemed a little leary about doing it then.

So I'm just playing doctor for now & waiting to see that new doctor next month.

actually the "tennis elbow" and "golfers elbow" are what started all my symtoms. they said it was golfers which is on the inside as opposed to tennis on the outside of the arm. i have really bad pain there that shoots down into my hands which have gotten incredibly worse over the last 2 years. it also sometimes goes completely numb from the shoulder down and where the nerve connects near my wrist into my pinkie i guess is always very swollen. after several years of treatment and different diagnosis, they came to determine that all my issues were related and were fibro...so i guess it must be a common ailment of this condition. but i definitely feel your pain literally...it's unbearble most days without my meds.

what i avoid that helps is carrying a purse at your elbow, resting it in the car on the door or armrest or on your armrest all day at work. i also find that good posture helps me while typing all day b/c there is less weight on my arm. hope that helps a little...i also use heat in the am and then ice later.

I've had tendonitis in my ankle like crazy. I had to do months of physical therapy and I soaked it in hot water a lot. That is what helped the most. I hope you start to feel better soon. Good luck!

Yes I have it in both my elbows and it is so tender and swells sometimes. I can't stand anybody to grab my elbow at all. I also have tendonitis in my shoulders in several places and it can hurt so bad some days it's hard to even brush my hair.

Thanks guys. Glad to know I'm not alone on this.

The one thing I find strange is that my left arm is so bad & I am right handed - doesn't make sense to me. But hey, does anything with Fibro?

Sometimes i get so tickled at all of us, u wouldn't believe it, I was reading everything y'all were writing and i was (believe it or not) laughing my bottom off. We 5 (and I'm sure more people) have the same identical problems. I don't know why, it just got me tickled. I have been to the er i don't know how many times because of tendinitis. I have it in both elbows and hands. The swelling everything. I remembered 1 time the physician gave me a shot and i asked him if it was going to hurt and he said no, he gave me the shot, and it really didn't hurt, but he took off running to the other side of the room , I hollered at him and said what are u runnnnnnng, let me tell u what that was the 2nd most painful shot i have ever had in my entire life. I hollered at him and told him i would be back to ring his freakin neck for lying. The shot was a delayed reaction shot he knew he had just so much time to get to the counter b-4 it hit me. i thought that was funny to think of that. Not at the time of course. All of that put to the side, i have an awful lot of pain in my left elbow, both shoulders are killin me but if u can imagine my left one is stinging pain omg it hurts bad. I got a cortisone shot in, man it didn't do a dam thing. (You know the beavers dam)LOL no cussing here, right ladies and (gentlemen if there are any)LOL well gotta go for now, Hope u all feel better take all of ur medicine and get some good rest, so we can B/S tomorrow.

Later c-ya
